Who am I? I am a voyager in this life as are you. I’m a work-in-progress. Isn't that really the only honest answer any of us can give? My answer tomorrow as to who I am could be vastly different from today--when turned, even just slightly, a prism in the light reveals a whole new range of colors. I listen to a strong inner voice, know my core values (honesty, loyalty, respect, sensitivity, fairness, communication, "do unto others...," giving back) and examine my actions to see if they demonstrate those values. While I falter at times, I succeed more often these days.
I work from my home developing medical books for a major publisher. It is quite satisfactory to sit in jammies and participate in an international conference. When it gets really cold, I can burrow in my office, avoid the bad streets, and still make a good living. I'm pleased to be my own boss, setting my own hours and granting myself a day off when I choose.
I am most centered in a natural environment--walks in the woods are a favorite (the equivalent of what some people get from attending church). Art, photography, music, museums, antique shops, concerts, celebrations, movies, dining out, sipping wine, reading, writing are favorite pastimes. I would like to travel more.
While somewhat introspective, I am often talkative and, I am told, witty and outrageously funny. Large crowds are not a favorite. On the other hand, I have navigated huge conferences comfortably. I am not and do not pretend to be staggeringly beautiful, but I know how to maximize my assets and am more than presentable. Let's face it--if you're more than 50, you're past your prime. So I will not judge you solely on physical attributes and expect the same consideration in return.
I have 2 grown, successful children and 2 grandsons. My children are the most important people in the world to me. My core of long-term friends are priceless.
So what is my soul's desire? To find an honest, intelligent, gregarious gentleman who is an evolved male--by that I mean a man that is secure enough to enter the field seeing a woman as his equal in every aspect. Someone who enjoys good times and good conversation, laughter, and the quiet moments as well. Someone who is willing to share of themself, both the dark and the light, and willing to allow me to do likewise. Someone who is masculine, willing to be a partner in the deepest sense, but not afraid to take the reins on occasion. Someone who is willing to risk being vulnerable in order to achieve intimacy. Am I asking for a lot? Perhaps. But I do not expect more than I am willing to give.
