I'm newly retired and loving the freedom. I'd like some new friends. I'm a woman in transition--lots of interests. Some days I'm full tilt: gardening, walking with my dog, working at my small business, reading or writing fiction (I like science fiction and fantasy), corresponding with Kenyan friends, etc. And some days I stall out and read all day. I want to get stronger on long walks and 3x a week at the gym. Too easy to run out of steam. It's hard work. I'd like a buddy to brag when I've done good and admit my doldrums when they happen. I'm a good encourager and offer a listening eye and pep talks or comiseration if you would welcome. I'm not up for the work of "dating"--just want a penpal. Absolutely NOT interested in online sextalk. I'm a spiritual woman whose roots are in Christianity but who explores the world. I've been to Kenya and now I run a small retail crafts business here in the states to help an AIDS widows and orphans group in Kisumu, Kenya. My dog, Gentle, is a 30 lb mutt--white with black spots, rescued from the pound when she was a pup. I'm never-married and no kids, but I've loved--not always wisely. That's a bit about me, tell me about yourself. What do you want from a friend?
My Ideal Person:
A man with enough life to have learned some wisdom. Someone with a sense of humor. A man with strong interests--retired FOR something, not just FROM something. Willing and able to talk about his interests, concerns, puzzlements and passions. Open to exploring new things. A non-violent peacemaker. A humble man.
