About poll/vote for worst person... Jun 29, 2006 6:34 am
Mood: angry, 645 Views

I was going to add this as a comment on the blog/poll about worst person in America but changed my mind so that maybe more will view and think about it...
**************************************
My point of view...

Well folks...say all you want about all on the list but if you look at the votes so far you will find that the one person voted to be the worst is the female who caused so much pain for the men who served in Viet Nam...They and their families in this country will remember Jane Fonda as one of the first to turn her back on the values of the American military and in so doing the values of this country...I or you may not agree with what happened in Viet Nam but it is a part of our history now and should always be remembered...So many served and died and those that returned were treated like shit...Excuse my language...

I will always consider her a very dangerous person in the history of this country...One who is as the saying goes...A snake in the grass, split tongue and all...(Don't even ask me what I think about Hillary Clinton and the military...)

Some laws you might not know about... Jun 28, 2006 10:14 pm

LAWS OF THE NATURAL UNIVERSE

Law of Mechanical Repair:
After your hands become coated with grease, your nose will begin to itch or you'll have to pee.

Law of the Workshop:
Any tool, when dropped, will roll to the least accessible corner.

Law of Probability:
The probability of being watched is directly proportional to the stupidity of your act.

Law of the Telephone:
If you dial a wrong number, you never get a busy signal.

Law of the Alibi:
If you tell the boss you were late for work because you had a flat tire, the very next morning you will have a flat tire.

Variation Law:
If you change lines (or traffic lanes), the one you were in will start to move faster than the one you are in now (works every time).

Law of the Bath:
When the body is fully immersed in water, the telephone rings.

Law of Close Encounters:
The probability of meeting someone you know increases when you are with someone you don't want to be seen with

Law of the Result:
When you try to prove to someone that a machine won't work, it will.

Law of Bio mechanics:
The severity of the itch is inversely proportional to the reach.

Law of the Theatre:
At any event, the people whose seats are furthest from the aisle arrive last.

Law of Coffee:
As soon as you sit down to a cup of hot coffee, your boss will ask you to do something which will last until the coffee is cold.

Murphy's Law of Lockers:
If there are only two people in a locker room, they will have adjacent lockers.

Law of Rugs/Carpets:
The chances of an open-faced jelly sandwich landing face down on a floor covering are directly correlated to the newness and cost of the carpet/rug.

Law of Location:
No matter where you go, there you are.

Law of Logical Argument:
Anything is possible if you don't know what you are talking about.

Brown's Law:
If the shoe fits, it's ugly.

Oliver's Law:
A closed mouth gathers no feet.

Wilson's Law:
As soon as you find a product that you really like, they will stop making it.

What should I do??? Jun 25, 2006 3:24 pm
Mood: confused, 556 Views

There is a blog here today that was meant for me right now...Only problem is that it does give me an answer, just confuses me more...
I am in a situation that might hurt someone on here if I share and yet not to share might hurt more in the long run...What should I do??? Do I share the information with the person or hold back and see if it will resolve in a few days...

Those that know me will understand that to hurt someone else would be so hard for me as I have felt that kind of pain myself...Please share with me your ideas on what you would do if it happened to you...

Huggs to all,
Marie

You know folks it has been several days since the original blog about the bad visit in Texas...don't you think it is time to move on and not keep adding fuel to the embers???
How about just putting it in your book of messed up days and close that chapter...
I do apologize for adding my worthless 2 cents at the beginning...
On to better blog reading...

I have often viewed pictures of clouds that were taken from above ground...I recently was coming home from Tennessee and there were storms in different parts of the country...I thought to myself, I might as well see if I can get some good pictures...I ended up with 50 pictures and after some edit work I am trying to pick the best one for my desktop...You don't know how hard it is to pick one of 50...lol
Anyway...just thought I would share something that was enjoyable for me regarding pictures...
Have a great day...]

For the Mothers... May 13, 2006 9:27 am
Mood: nostalgic, 485 Views

Mothers

This is for the mothers who have sat up all night with sick toddlers in their arms, wiping up barf laced with Oscar Mayer wieners and cherry Kool-Aid saying, "It's okay honey, Mommy's here." Who have sat in rocking chairs for hours on end soothing crying babies who can't be comforted.

This is for all the mothers who show up at work with spit-up in their hair and milk stains on their blouses and diapers in their purse. For all the mothers who run carpools and make cookies and sew Halloween costumes. And all the mothers who DON'T.

This is for the mothers who gave birth to babies they'll never see. And the mothers who took those babies and gave them homes.

This is for the mothers whose priceless art collections are hanging on their refrigerator doors.
And for all the mothers who froze their buns on metal bleachers at football or soccer games instead of watching from the warmth of their cars, so that when their kids asked, "Did you see me, Mom?" they could say, "Of course, I wouldn't have missed it for the world," and mean it.

This is for all the mothers who yell at their kids in the grocery store and swat them in despair when they stomp their feet and scream for ice cream before dinner. And for all the mothers who count to ten instead, but realize how child abuse happens.

This is for all the mothers who sat down with their children and explained all about making babies. And for all the (grand) mothers who wanted to, but just couldn't find the words.

This is for all the mothers who go hungry, so their children can eat. For all the mothers who read "Goodnight, Moon" twice a night for a year. And then read it again. "Just one more time."

This is for all the mothers who taught their children to tie their shoelaces before they started school. A nd for all the mothers who opted for Velcro instead.

This is for all the mothers who teach their sons to cook and their daughters to sink a jump shot.

This is for every mother whose head turns automatically when a little voice calls "Mom?" in a crowd, even though they know their own offspring are at home -- or even away at college.

This is for all the mothers who sent their kids to school with stomach aches assuring them they'd be just FINE once they got there, only to get calls from the school nurse an hour later asking them to please pick them up. Right away.

This is for mothers whose children have gone astray, who can't find the words to reach them.

This is for all the step-mothers who raised another woman's child or children, and gave their time, attention, and love... sometimes totally unappreciated!

For all the mothers who bite their lips until they bleed when their 14-year-olds dye their hair green.

For all the mothers of the victims of recent school shootings, and the mothers of those who did the shooting. For the mothers of the survivors, and the mothers who sat in front of their TVs in horror, hugging their child who just came home from school, safely.

This is for all the mothers who taught their children to be peaceful, and now pray they come home safely from a war.

What makes a good Mother anyway? Is it patience? Compassion? Broad hips?
The ability to nurse a baby, cook dinner, and sew a button on a shirt, all at the same time? Or is it in her heart? Is it the ache you feel when you watch your son or daughter disappear down the street, walking to school alone for the very first time? The jolt that takes you from sleep to dread, from bed to crib at 2 A.M. to put your hand on the back of a sleeping baby? The panic, years later, that comes again at 2 A.M. when you just want to hear their key in the door and know they are safe again in your home? Or the need to flee from wherever you are and hug your child when you hear news of a fire, a car accident, a child dying?

The emotions of motherhood are universal and so our thoughts are for young mothers stumbling through diaper changes and sleep deprivation...
And mature mothers learning to let go.

For working mothers and stay-at-home mothers.

Single mothers and married mothers.

Mothers with money, mothers without.

This is for you all. For all of us. Hang in there.

In the end we can only do the best we can.

Tell them every day that we love them. And pray.

"Home is what catches you when you fall - and we all fall."

Senior sex

After his exam, the doctor said to the elderly man, "You appear to be in good health. Do you have any medical concerns you would like to ask me about?"

"In fact, I do," said the old man. "After I have sex I am usually hot and sweaty, and then, after I have sex a second time, I am usually cold and chilly."

After examining his elderly wife, the doctor said, "Everything appears to be fine. Do you have any medical concerns that you would like to discuss with me?"

The lady replied that she had no questions or concerns.

The doctor then said to her: "Your husband had an unusual concern. He claims that he is usually hot and sweaty after having sex with you the first time, and then cold and chilly after the second time. Do you know why?"

"Oh that crazy old fart", she replied. "That's because the first time is usually in August and the second time is in January."

This is something I just wrote...With the upcoming "Irish Day" I guess you can tell where my thoughts have gone...

*******************************************

The beauty of Ireland touches my soul...
With memories more precious than gold...
Let not my mind close the door...
Ireland lives in my inner core...

The green hills and gentle glens...
Reminders of where I once have been...
A wish I have within my heart...
Once more of Ireland to be a part...

Huggs to you all...

Worth reading... Mar 13, 2006 12:05 pm
Mood: contemplative, 646 Views

I know some folks do not want to read passalongs here but this one is really very good reading... Read and see if you don't agree...
***********************************************

As we grow up, we learn that even the one person that wasn't supposed to ever let you down probably will. You will have your heart broken probably more than once and it's harder every time. You'll break hearts too, so remember how it felt when yours was broken. You'll fight with your best friend. You'll blame a new love for things an old one did. You'll cry because time is passing too fast, and you'll eventually lose someone you love.
So take too many pictures, laugh too much, and love like you've never been hurt because every sixty seconds you spend upset is a minute of happiness you'll never get back.
Send this to all of your friends to let us know how much you care.

Have a great day.
Marie
