My son brought home a book last week called "Left Behind" written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.it deals with the Rapture. I really never saw him get into a book the way he was this one. he is more of a sports minded person unlike me, im a bookworm. He had been telling me all about it, so when he was thru i started.. it deals with millions of people being taken by god, in the last days before the devils reign on earth, and then the people who are left behind. today my daughter and i went to the thrift store and we found the whole series. i cant wait to read them all. it may take me awhile, because it is a 10 book series so far. i am interested as to whether any of you have read this series and how it makes you feel. did it enhance your religious beliefs or spirituality? in my opinion they are worth reading! kellyc aka saucy
Have you ever ran into someone that you've never seen before that just gives you the creeps? Its happened to me twice that i can think of off the top of my head. Once, my family and I were in a Chinese rest, and the guy at the table directly across from me, stared at my chest the whole time we were there. I got so self conscience, that I had to ask my hubby if I was showing too much cleavage or if something was wrong with me. I had a sheer top on with a tank top layered underneath, so nothing was visible. At first I thought I was imagining it, till my fifteen yr old got mad and said mom why is that guy staring at you like that?? The thing that made me more uncomfortable was her was starin at my boobs while having his arm around his wife or g/f. Well today I got creeped out again. I ran to a convenience store, and this man just stood there watching me..he completely turned around and just stared at my getting a coffee.. wherever I went in the store I could feel his eyes on me. Maybe he liked my tee shirt , lol I dont know..all I do know is it made me uncomfortable. Im not a prude and I dont mind anyone looking at me or glancing at me..but this is different. It gives my a sick feeling. Like a prickling in the back of your neck, when you feel like something bad is going to happen. I dont know maybe Im just paranoid, have any of you ever experienced this before? kellyc aka saucy
I decided to cut down on the amount snacks I buy for our house. I bought a big variety of fruit, oranges and tangelos, some apples and grapes. We have chips in the house, but Im not a big chip or pretzel eater.. The kids love fruit and so do I,, so why am I craving chocolate? Its driving me nuts!. I was talking about it in chat this mornin and its only gotten worse. lol I dont ever remember being this tempted to run to the store and buy a chocolate chip muffin. Im trying to hold out...does the chocolate craving ever go away??? I know some people who could eat one hersheys kiss and be happy...to me that would open a big can of worms lol I cant stop at one!! kellyc aka saucy
today is "fishing sunday", im taking the boys down to the mississippi river so they can fish and i can sun and read my latest novel. i never liked fish, catching them or eating them lol. but it is one of the few times i can see the "little boy" in my 15 and 17 yr old. the excitement in their faces when they reel in the big one, or the laughter and teasing when they catch a stick lol. somedays i miss the little boys they were, but im also learning to enjoy the men they are becoming. my middle son and i went to a few garage sales yesterday and we found great deals on baby and toddler clothes, for our upcoming foster kids. one lady said she had so many clothes, she had an "all you can stuff in a bag for 2 dollars sale!" we are still waiting for the paper work to go thru...it seems like it is taking forever!! but in the mean time we are setting up a nursery/toddler bedroom. the closer it gets the more excited we are. hopefully they will push those papers thru!! i hope you all have a great day! im off to get a lil sunburnt and enjoy the beautiful spring day on the banks of the mississippi river kellyc aka saucy

do you think hillarys staying in the race is going to hurt the democratic party? do you think they will be able to unite after such a negative race? ive seen alot of polls saying many people for obama wont vote for hillary..and many people for hillary wont vote obama.. i for one dont place alot on polls. some people in the press have stated she is waiting for a veep offer, but i saw another article that said michelle obama said no way will she be asked. one of hillarys advisers said that their campaign is now about 20 million dollars in debt, and it could be more. they also said hillary is waiting for obama to offer compensation to her campaign since they r in debt. that i didnt understand since she and bill are rich and could cover it easily. so what do you think..after all the negativity and the racial under tones, whether real or imagined, after rev wright and sniper gate, will the democrats rally and support each other this fall? kellyc aka saucy
ive been doing alot of food blogs lately, and one response about meatlof, made me remember a horrible experience! not long after i got married i wanted to impress my hubby with my wonderful meatloaf..i never really watched my mom make meatloaf so i fingured how hard could it be?? onions and ketchup..meat...looked simple.. wellllllll nobody mentioned oatmeal or bread crumbs and eggs...lol who would have thought? i put my mound of meat in the oven and it looked like a loaf..but when i took it out...it was a greasy blob that oozzed off the plate. we went out to eat that night lol. thinking back, i had once gone to my grammas house to visit, she was prolly around 80, and we didnt know it then but was in the early stages of Alzheimer's. and she made a Montgomery pie and gave my hubby a slice. i saw him take a big bite and he had a "look" on his face like he didnt wanna swallow. lol my gramma had made it with all lemon and forgot the sugar. we hugged and laffed till we had tears in our eyes. lord she was a wonderful woman, around 4 foot 9 and a bundle of energy. i miss her! have you ever made anything and forgot to add things? or made something that you assumed would be wonderful and then tasted it and YUK? please share! kellyc aka saucy
on saturday i went to our towns annual 200+ family yard sale. unfortunately it rained and was pretty miserable, but the people still came out in droves. i didnt buy much this time, but i did find a treasure of cook books. i am a cooking enthusiast, and i always buy new books and try new things. the lovely lady was selling them for a dime a piece so i went crazy like a kid at a candy store!. ive always bought those paper back Pillsbury cook off books and she had alot from way back, so i snatched em all up. and also a couple of church cook books, i love those, because everybody knows that church ladies make awesome food! the recipes get passed down from mother to daughter. those are the best kind! when searching thru them when i got home, i found a recipe for a "poke" cake. i used to make these as a kid, basic yellow cake and then you poke holes in it with a wooden spoon handle, and make chocolate pudding to dump on the top. it goes down the holes and stripes the cake..it is so moist. my kids loved it, and it brought back great memories from when i was a kid learning to cook. i found lots of great recipes to try, and learned of "hot dishes", it seems to be a staple here in MN but i had never heard of it b4. i guess it is what was considered just a casserole to us easterners..but alot of em have tater tots in it!!. my kids wanna try so i guess its gonna be hot dish one day soon. if anyone has their own hot dish recipe id love to see it! kellyc aka saucy
i dont know how many of you are make up hounds, but i definitely am! i have a whole box of stuff i buy to try out, i love the new stuff on the scene and i play round with colors. have any of you tried the new mineral make up? i just bought some. i wasnt sure if id like it so i didnt go out and buy that 60$ pure minerals brand, i got some maybeline mineral power, and i swear it is the best thing ive ever used. i have rosacea, and i was afraid it wouldnt cover the redness but it does! and it doesnt feel cakey, you basically cant tell your wearing it.it blends right in. another worry i had was whether it would accentuate little lines and wrinkles but it doesnt do that either.. i am so glad i didnt spend the 60 bucks, the maybeline was on sale for right around 6 dollars and you only use a little bit at a time. heck i spent a small fortune on estee lauder foundation, and for my this is better! the have a mineral veil after powder too that adds light to your face. id love to hear if anybody else uses minerals, and what brand you buy. kellyc aka saucy
