Jun 26, 2008 6:47 am 326 Views | This is a c/p from a Mass. politician and defense attorney talking about Jessica's law, dealing with child abusers. It made me really sick and ticked off......
A Massachusetts politician and defense attorney has touched off a firestorm with his shocking public vow to torment and "rip apart" child rape victims who take the witness stand if the state legislature passed stiff mandatory sentences for child sex offenders.
Rep. James Fagan, a Democrat, made the comments during debate last month on the state House floor.
"I'm gonna rip them apart," Fagan said of young victims during his testimony on the bill. "I'm going to make sure that the rest of their life is ruined, that when they’re 8 years old, they throw up; when they’re 12 years old, they won’t sleep; when they’re 19 years old, they’ll have nightmares and they’ll never have a relationship with anybody.” Fagan said as a defense attorney it would be his duty to do that in order to keep his clients free from a "mandatory sentence of those draconian proportions." The father of the Florida girl for whom Jessica's Law is named also blasted Fagan after hearing the comments.
Mark Lunsford, whose 9-year-old daughter was abducted and buried alive in a trash bag by a sex offender in 2005, told the Boston Herald on Tuesday that Fagan should take the rights of victimized children seriously.
“Why doesn’t he figure out a way to defend that child and put these kind of people away instead of trying to figure ways for defense attorneys to get around Jessica’s Law?” Lunsford told the paper. “These are very serious crimes that nobody wants to take serious. What about the rights of these children?”

| deceit in packaging |
Jun 17, 2008 8:09 am 261 Views | | I saw on the news yesterday that many companies are reducing the amt of product in their packing. but keeping the same price. Edies ice cream, Sheds country spread margarine, Frito lay, Helmans and Kelloggs have all reduced the amt of product in same size packaging. I know that the cost of everything is going up. But it seems a little deceitful to do it this way. Some people may not check the amts in the containers and never know it is happening. They say that we wont notice the "small" difference, so it isnt really a problem. Alot of people are struggling and living pay check to pay check..people living on a bidget will notice if their food isnt lasting them a week anymore. And people with kids will notice take notice! I know its all about the dollar..and I think it is ok to make a profit in industry..but admit it..dont try to deceive the consumer by making it look like it isnt happening.

May 27, 2008 7:50 pm 317 Views | My hubby has 2 days of vacation this week so i decided to put him to work. When we bought our house, it had 2 huge flower beds along the front side of our house. For some reason they filled em with river rocks. I think it is really ugly had decided we are goin to dig em out and plant flowers. About half way thru this afternoon, lol, I almost changed my mind. Who knew rivers rocks were heavy lol duhhhhh! We got one half done, to the front porch. Then we stopped cause our backs were killing us, and went to lowes to look for top soil and different plants. My MIL had given me some really pretty Gerber daiseys, and some purple flowers that look like lavender. I also bought a snow ball bush, and alot of panseys, i love panseys!!. My MIL also gave me a bunch of ferns she transplanted from her garden. we bought 5 pots of wave petunias, and at Aldis last week i found planters with red white and blue flowers. they are so pretty, I hope I don t kill em! When the kids come home tomorrow, we hope to be finished with the front, and we are gonna get to work on the spot I want my garden. they dumped a bunch of rocks there too, I guess it was what was left over from my flower beds, I think I hate rocks now I am glad I didnt plant my peppers and tomatoes yet..they are calling for possible frost tonight! When I get done the front of my house I hope i can post a picture of it. Hope you all had a nice week end and Monday!

| the storms rolled thru our town |
May 26, 2008 7:40 am 360 Views | Around 5 last night we had hellish storms go thru our town. Coon Rapids, the town next to us had a tornado touch down, then there was one on the other side of our town, and one reported in Lino Lakes which is the other side. We had lots of branches and debris laying around, but we had no damage. We did get quarter size hail, and I was unlucky enuff to be caught out in our car during some of it. Was very scarey, cause people couldnt see past the hood of their cars and there wasnt a place to pull over. People were huddled together under an a bridge, on highway 10. Smart or not I decided to trudge thru it, because we didnt have that far to go. My son and I ran my brother in law home, and when we had left it didnt seem too bad out, just very dark. So everyone here is fine and I appreciate all the well wishes and prayers. thank you Elle The worst of the storm hit in Hugo, one 2 yr old is dead and her sibling is critical. Some of the pictures on the news, looks like a bomb hit the houses. So for some of our indoor "picnic" we were down stairs, in our rec room. Our "intruder" and his family came, and we still had a good time. My MIL and i DID NOT wait on anyone lol. Maybe we are learning something I was kinda glad when it was over, with the storm and everything. But the one thing that made me laff is, when our "guest" left, lol he thanked us for inviting him!! My MIL and I did tell our guys what we thought, and yes it was true as someone on my former blog said.. He gets to them at work. My MIL was pretty ticked off, so i think that my FIL got the message lol. All in all after I vented a bit, it cleared my mind and i still had a good time. Ty all for caring! happy Memorial Day! kellyc aka saucy

May 25, 2008 8:27 am 570 Views | Have you ever had someone who invites themselves over for family functions every time they can? Last summer, almost every other weekend, this person invited himself and his family,( wife 3 little kids and 2 grown kids), over to either our house or my father in laws house, to come eat with us. He is one of the supervisors at their work, and he is tryin to get brownie points with my father in law, who is the vice president. He started out as one of my hubbys lead men and , Scott recommended him for a supervisors position. When they come over, he and his wife talk about how much work he does in the company and how he deserves so much more money than he is being paid. We dont want to hear it lol! My hubby and father in law practically live at the plant as it is. We want our free time to be our own. I wouldnt mind as much if we invited him..but he asks..what are you doing this week end..then says ohhh well we may stop over. There is never any we MAY stop..they always come... and expect to be entertained and waited on. Today it is happening again, we planned a cookout and my mother in law called and said..they just invited themselves over...I just wanted to warn you! I know because of my husbands and father in laws positions, that I have to hold my tongue, but I have never dealt with anyone doing this before lol. Last year he even invited himself over the day I learned my uncle died, and there I was crying and trying to cook and wait on his family. After they ate I just excused myself from the room and went to my bedroom. They knew he had died and still came over and stayed for hours. I just needed some time alone. I was raised that it isnt polite to turn someone away in need, and my husbands family is the same way.. so we dont refuse them. But i am getting so bitter about it, that I dont like myself when they are here. It doesnt matter if we tell them we have family plans, they still come. The kids terrorize the dogs, they go thru my kids things..we lock the door to the down stairs cause they go thru my kids dressers and closets. Its making me more crazy than i already am!!
Thanks for letting me vent a bit Happy Memorial day everybody!! kellyc aka saucy

| why many people think she should have apologised |
May 24, 2008 1:53 pm 589 Views | In my husbands company, 85% of his workers are black. I am a political creature, so I have discussed politics in great lengths with most of them. One of the first times we spoke, all of them had expressed concern about Barrack Obama, in becoming the nominee or the president, being assassinated, or an attempted assassination. These are great men, working class, some single, some with families. They are not all for barrack, there is a healthy mix between Obama and Hillary. most who support Hillary do so because they liked her husband, they feel she will continue on with his works. But overwhelmingly, the feeling is that an attempt will be made on his life. If this is the sentiment in the black community, that is why there is an out cry for Hillary to apologize for her Bobby Kennedy remark. She may not have meant it the way it is reported, but the facts are...there have been threats on his life, extra secret sevice have be assigned to him due to these threats. After all of the negativity in her ads and attacks she has made against obama, everything she says will be scrutinized. Whether it needs to be or not. There were plenty of other ways for her to say she should stay in till june or July or whenever. It may not have been deliberate, but i do think it was insensitive. kellyc aka saucy

| left behind |
May 24, 2008 1:28 pm 522 Views | My son brought home a book last week called "Left Behind" written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins.it deals with the Rapture. I really never saw him get into a book the way he was this one. he is more of a sports minded person unlike me, im a bookworm. He had been telling me all about it, so when he was thru i started.. it deals with millions of people being taken by god, in the last days before the devils reign on earth, and then the people who are left behind. today my daughter and i went to the thrift store and we found the whole series. i cant wait to read them all. it may take me awhile, because it is a 10 book series so far. i am interested as to whether any of you have read this series and how it makes you feel. did it enhance your religious beliefs or spirituality? in my opinion they are worth reading! kellyc aka saucy
