A lady friend in the not too distant past suggested that I try new things,and one was chatting,next blogging.I'd never done either.
But now,nonetheless,here I am,blogging away!

My last landlady, you may recall,
How she changed most over night;
I will admit her health had changed,
Yet i mention this in spite.

Some lady left or else she died,
Then this lady and her husband loaded
Every darned thing that those 2 could steal,
But then their "deal" imploded!

As always,God is never fooled-
Was it someone somewhere ratted?
Now that landlady,she is being fired,
And her butt ain't getting patted!

I ain't nevah liked Minden-come from Lafayette-
If i hadn't been injured,I'd be gone,you can bet!
It was all kinds of drinkin'-woulda thought I'da learned,
But I drink vodka straight,and no drink I have spurned!

At the Council on Aging,I walk round,'lectin cans,
That might seem pathetic,but i do what I can;
Wouldn't be here in Minden-got a clot on my brain!
But i don't hurt no more,and I ain't got no pain.

There's a guy and his wife who sit with me at meals,
The man reeks of religion,won't shaddup-what's the deal?
Yes the man says don't worry, cuz one day you'll go home-
But I'm stuck here in Minden-Lafayette's my real home!

POPSIE LOSES 30 POUNDS-but I still got so awful far to go Dec 1, 2008 10:14 pm

I went to my second or third medicall appointment,apropos of getting a laproscopic operation.
So far things are going remarkably well.

I had shot up to 401 lbs-the highest since 1997,when I nearly died....that was up North,before coming down here to la.
After getting the word from the nutritionist for the lap band program,they told me unequivocably I would get no help paying for the operation on Medicare unless I lost 30-50 lbs in 90 days.

My sister and her family said they would rather go ahead and take me to my appointments,seeing that I was comitted to the program,and was making more strides than before,and also for another reason,they dont want Mike the Minister involved in it anymore,since he lies and cops out conveniently and blames me and my family,and the dorctors and anyone else he can think of.
Today was my sister's first shot at taking me to my remaining(?) appointments-a thing I hadnt wanted to do,but she says she's okay with it.

Better yet....today I had some signs of real progress....if it continues.I LOST 30 POUNDS.
But I have to lose between 30-50 pounds at least,or the program still wont pay for the procedure,because in their estimation,if i only lose 100 pounds alltogether, theyd RATHER NOT.
So now I have to show them,and that means more exercise and lo carbs and low fats,which for me has been my most boring road to anywhere formerly.

many people here where I live arent at all aware of my success, and instead still seee a big huge guy...altogether oblivious that all they do all day is sit on their keister and dish out abuse whenever they see me.

But I cant worry about that.This time its all about me and my efforts with weight loss.
SO, I CANT REST ON MY LAURELS, as my mother used to like to say.

As a woman, she's a baby bird
That never quite gets fed,
And her mates roughhouse her in her nest,
So she keeps close to her bed.

As she thinks the whole world's but a waste,
And she wishes she could leave;
But they haven't built her house as yet-
Is that why the lady grieves?

Aso she goes, as on she trods,
And cries and sobs and moans,
Declaring life is but a sham,
And they won't leave her alone.

But she wishes they would talk to her,
And she wishes she had friends;
What's she missing? She already has-
Does the lady comprehend?

If it wasn't for her failing health,
She might see things differently,
But in this life that we all live,
There are no guarantees.

If you remember,last time out,Popsie had been told not to sing when the bluegrass gospel players came to serenade at our building the last week of the month.In fact,Jim,a puppy dog of a man,had felt that the "hostess" had personally asked that Popsie be silenced,so he called out a squad to come and stand by lest poor Popsie utter one lone sad note.After which Popsie had bade a sorrowful goodbye and gone back to his apartment.

But Rose,the wife of the lead singer told me her huisband and the rest of the band,who Ive known for at least 2 years,felt sad that I had to leave,and so she offered to sit with me during the next performance and dare Ms.Pity-Pants to cause trouble.

On this occasion,I felt it necessary to take my tired old bones downstairs without the aid of my motorized wheelchair and instead just a quad cane.I promised to let the band do the singing,and they let me alone.Of course,Rose sat near me,and I dont think Ms Pity-Pants was going to mess with that.


They say the Lion will lie down with the Lamband the Beast from the Wild will be led my a little Child.So,do you think there's any hope for Popsie?

POPSIE'S THANKSGIVING AFTERMATH! Nov 27, 2008 12:29 pm

Well,Im through with Thansgiving for another year,and that's good,and my sister says she'll help me get to my medical appointments,seeing that the minister over at that church Im currently attending often cops an excuse.

I have 3 appointments between Dec 1&10;all are on Mondays except for the third, which is on a Wednesday.
I thanks my sister for providing such an enjoyable dinner.

Right now,I kind of realize that altho all of us are quite different from each other,different is good,as long as we dont have to buy into each other's bale of hay all the time,or live so near that it is aggravating(more than it's been)

So,I feel pretty good about things for the moment.
About 2 years ago my brother in law and his other brother raymond had been looking at old pictures and negatives-and his family has some of the oldest.....and he was lamenting that his film camera was broken.I never heard which one was gthe culprit,just that it was broken,and he just prefers a film camera,cuz there you get a negative.So (2 years ago) I looked on ebay and saw a cheap Canon EOS Rebel with all the accessories,and it was cheaply priced,so I ordered it and secreted it in my closet.

Knowing that I was going over there now,I decided to let him have it (tho it was really a XMAS present) so he'd get to try it out. Well,he loved it.Im obviously not buying someone's friendship.But I knew it was something he wanted,and he apparently wasnt going to go out and get it.probably wished his wife would get one for him,but instead,I did.

I had brought along a Pentax digital camera I bought on QVC and he showed me a few basics,I being digital unfriendly up to now.

So,all that was great,until my neice Melissa went and informed me that I DIDNT have a memory card for it,so I counldnt take many shots,so I better head to WALLY WORLD and get one pronto!

I will-but all that's okay,after all Im a virgin as far as digital cameras go.

IT'S THANKS GIVING TIME,AND I GUESS,ONE DAY IS NOT GONNA BREAK ANY OF US.

I CANT PIG OUT ANYMORE,ESPECIALLY SINCE I AM DETERMINED TO GET A LAB BAND OPERATION

WEDNESDAY IN MY FAMILY IS THE DAY WHICH HAS BEEN CHOSEN FOR OUR BASH OF TURKEYS

ANYWAY,POPSIE WOULD LIKE TO WISH ALL OF YOU THE GREATEST THANKSGIVING EVER

BUT IF YOU NEED HELP I KNOW A GOODS ARMS DEALER SO Y'ALL CAN FIGHT IT OUT

JUST KIDDING. HAVE FUN.

REMEMBER....SOMETIMES THE THANKSGIVING COMES AFTER THE DAY IS ALL OVER!

Some lass is there,on the rebound,
He slips his hand under her gown
And round her neck and shoulders too
It's obvious what he wants to do.

A younger lassie? He dont care!
It's plain,all he wants
is to get his share;
And when he does, then he'll move on,
Like a vampire he strikes,
she his willing pawn.

Do you think she knows,or does she see,

I cannot change it,she's not my daughter;

(this poem admits one glaring error:Lennon did NOT say Jesus was second,he said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus.But if John made his peace with his Lord,the question is moot whether anyone,protestant or catholic,can legitimately claim to pardon him.)

John Lennon's dead, and long since gone-
except for phony christians;
he's been "pardoned" by Pope benedict,
who's loosed some bene-dic-shee-onz.

John Lennon-just a young man, then,
when he made his "awful" boast
about Jesus being second-
but, John Lennon's now a ghost,

and anyway, the catholic church
no longer holds the host,
cuz the vatican is dumber, yes-
they're dumber than a post.

And anyway, they've all forgotten Jesus,
whether protestant or cath;
So I'm duelling with them, on the pier,
with me little sword of lath.

Just a Jester, in a nazi camp,
where no one seems to care;
Excepting, on Election Day-
