A New Job

Well, I bit the bullet and left the world of punching time clocks to work at home. I am so glad I did. It is wonderful to get up, make coffee, work a straight 8 hour day, have a paid lunch, and have the freedom of no stress. My boss is wonderful, appreciative, and sought me out for my knowledge. What a welcome change that is!!

Show Rehersals

Rehersals are going great for the show I'm directing in October and November. I have a fabulous group of five men who have created this "deercamp" that everyone should visit at least once. All of their hardwork and dedication make it the most memorable to date. I feel very honored and pleased to have been a part of this show. My face hurts by the end of rehersal and that's a good thing!

One of life's road bumps

Last Thursday I received the news that my second daughter may have a brain tumor. In light of other health issues she has this has been hard to get a handle on. She is also pregnant and can't have an MRI till the baby is born. I may not be on SFF as often in the next few weeks so take care, smile, and know that I'll miss everyone till I get back.

Mondays are not good days in customer service. Here's a little glimpse into the world of manufacturing:
Customer: Hello I need to order a part?
Me: Okay have you ordered with us before?
Cust: I think so.
Me: What is your zip code?
Cust: 303
Me: Not your area code sir, your zip code for where you live?
Cust: I gave it to you.
Me: That was the area code for your phone sir, I need your postal zip code.
Cust: I don't have one.
Me: Well, I can't help you if you don't have a zip code sir. Let's start with your name.
Cust: Scott
Me: Your last name please
Cust: That was it
Me: Do you have a first name sir?
Cust: Yes
Me: Could you please hold sir? CALMLY I PUT THEM ON HOLD AND BEAT THE AIR WITH THE PHONE TILL I CAN'T BREATHE OR SEE AND THEN I FINISH THE CALL.
Amazing, simply amazing!

I have my grandson for the week so I probably won't be on very much. He is almost a year old, runs all over and is so much fun. Have a great weekend and a wonderful week. He just captures me with his antics!

Hump Day

Well I got through the second full day of work this week in our new "office" space with the 7 minute rule and the 1 minute rule. We have air conditioning and that has been a life saver in the heat wave we are having again. Need to get blinds at the windows and then it will be better. Hope you are all having a wonderful hump day.

It's nice to have a Monday off and yet this one always finds me with mixed feelings. The last hurrah of summer, school starting, fall approaching...glad the extremely hot days will be over and back to a routine and yet knowing the relaxing, lazy days are over. Colder weather is around the corner and down the block!
