Goodbye to all the gossip
And drama we've been through.

Goodbye to all the good times.
I'll hold them in my heart
And try to think about them
While we're thousands of miles apart.

Goodbye to empty friendships
And all the promises we made.
We can still read blogs and profiles
As our memories start to fade.

Goodbye, sleepless nights & days
Farewell typing, webcam, & ym
And those nights we stayed up chatting...
Remember, it was always about ‘them’.

Slowly, carefully,
She peals her clothes off
Cautiously, as if they were pieces of paper,
Delicate paper that would tear at the slightest tug.

Now she slips beneath the covers
Soft bed caressing her naked body
All she needs is sleep,
All she needs is…

She needs to be loved
She needs to hear some one say they trust her
She needs to be cherished
She needs…she needs to be held by him.

No, no. Just sleep.

But, she won’t sleep,
Torment is not easily quieted
Hearts are not easily repaired
Silently broken, her mutely falling tears stain her cheeks.

Tossed aside as a rag doll
He barks and then he whispers; curses then apologizes
She says she’s fine, he believes her.

He shouldn’t.
