Love come softly, brush against my heart
Yearning for its closeness, not ever to depart
In God’s Infinite Wisdom, I place my life,
And trust for tomorrow, what be, what might
Whatever path this love may go
It carries with it the willingness,
to let it go
And hope that one day, it will again, brush against my heart ....
To stay forever.

FOTO-FRIDAY FAVORITES #2 Nov 19, 2009 11:51 pm

I was having a difficult time deciding what picture I was going to post and then I remembered that I could post two!!

This was taken during the 2008 Stillwater Pow Wow here in Redding, CA. It was my first time ever going, and I had the pleasure of ThatBillGuy's company. He is an avid Pow Wow attender, and filled me in on all the types of dances and their meanings. It was a fun time. This was also one of the first times using my new digital camera too, so I was having a blast. I like this picture because I was able to capture the beautiful colors of his regalia as he twirled around.

This is a picture of one of my "joy" boys. His name is Ayden, and he is the grandson of a friend. I just love him to pieces. I love this picture because it is obvious he is living up to the proclamation on his t-shirt.

MY MUG SHOT Nov 18, 2009 9:41 pm

Honeyb0404 posted a blog today with a picture of her favorite mug to drink her coffee in, and encouraged more bloggers to do the same. If you haven't read about it, click here Can you say MUG SHOT??? to go read it, and then come back.

I did a blog a couple of years ago in which I included a picture of my very favorite mug. YOUR FAVORITE TIME TO DRINK The picture on that blog is of the coffee mug I gave my Dad for Father's Day one year. It says "Dad of the World's Greatest Kids" on it, and he got such a kick out of it. After he passed away, the mug came back to me. I usually drink my coffee from it on days when I just want to feel a special closeness to my Dad.

Then, there is this mug:

The sentiment with this one also relates to my Dad. I don't remember how old it is, but its at least 15 years old at a good guess. It was a Christmas gift one year from my folks ... and as I unwrapped it my Mom said "your Dad picked it out" Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but in my family, it was Mom who usually did all the gift buying, and then it went under the tree either from both of them, or from Santa. For me to know that my Dad actually was the one who picked it out, was extra special to me, no matter what it was. So, again, this cup is a special one. I use it more often, and every time I do, I smile. Its a bright and cheery mug, and I like to think that's why he picked it, because its how he saw me.

JUST SOME THOUGHTS Nov 15, 2009 10:19 pm

I read Earthytaurus' blog today When Other Women Hate You Because You're Beautiful. A very interesting article about "beautiful" women who feel they are treated unfairly by the same gender, because they are beautiful.

That got me to thinking about two things my Mom use to say to me while I was growing up. "Beauty is only skin deep" and "Pretty is as pretty does." Specially that last one. Anytime I did something not too nice, she'd hit me with that one. (not literally of course)

There are some women on this site that I think are very beautiful, and some men that are quite handsome. That opinion is based on what I have observed about their inner qualities. Their personalities.

Then, there are others who are physically attractive, but I wouldn't trust them with a 10 foot pole. They talk with the sweetness of honey, but deep in their soul boils a sour, bitter stench.

There is a reality show I keep seeing advertised ... something to do with "Bad Girls" I shake my head. I admire a woman who speaks her mind, and stands her ground, but not when it is hurtful, and degrading.

I'm just running off here. Haven't really blogged in quite a while. I still come in and visit ... but I'm becoming disillusioned.

There are some really emotionally unbalanced people in this world, and what scares me sometimes is that they are able to fool many.

Okay, stepping down from my soap box.

Okay, I have gone through my pictures and I can't come up with a single one that made me really laugh. I'm heading out in a few minutes, camera in hand, and I'm gonna see if I can capture something out in the world today. Wish me luck, cause if I don't come across anything, I will be forced to post a picture I took of myself last night, and you don't wanna see that!

I'M SORRY, I CAN'T KEEP QUIET ABOUT THIS ANY LONGER! Oct 19, 2009 10:04 am

Is anyone else tired of seeing those ugly teeth advertisements flashing in front of their face on this site! Oh my gosh! Actually, not all of the teeth are ugly, but come on! If I wanted to see that many rows of teeth at one time (or lack of) I'd have gone into the dental profession. Does anyone take time to read the ad that goes along with the pictures? If you are like me, if you can you scroll down the page far enough that the picture is removed from sight.

I'm all for good dental hygiene and ways to make my teeth look better, but this is getting to be a little over the top for me. Its not just the ads on SFF either ..... I am seeing them all over the place! Arrrrrggggg!!!!!!!

Okay, ......

Now that I got that off my chest, how is your day going?

FOTO FRIDAY - STILL LIFE OR THE DAY THE CABLE DIED! Oct 16, 2009 11:28 am

As I write this, I am waiting ….. time waits for no one, right? I thought a picture of my kitchen clock would be a good subject for this foto Friday theme. Little did I know that “time” would be a major factor in the whole scheme of things today, and this picture is more than appropriate.

First, let me give you a little history about this clock. Anyone want to take a gander at how old it is? Well, I got it second hand myself back in 1971.

My friend Jim had got his orders for Ft. Lewis, Washington, and he and his wife were selling a lot of their household items. This clock just hollered at me to take it. It blows me away that it has graced my kitchen walls for 38 years! You’d think I’d have grown tired of it by now, but I still like it. Besides, it won’t be too long and I should be able to call it an antique, right?

Now for the significance of the clock today in reference to “time.” This morning (Thursday) when I went to sign on the internet I kept getting this message that the server could not be found. “Hmmmm,” I said, “what’s up with this?” Then I tried to make a phone call, and my phone had no dial tone. I was beginning to feel a small sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I turned on my T.V. and all I got was snow and that horrible loud obnoxious sound that comes when there is no connection. My greatest fears were coming true. No Cable! That means, No T.V., no phone, and horrors upon horrors, no internet! I quickly called my cable service and was informed that a tech would not be able to come out until the next day, but thankfully, before noon. (We’ll see) I thanked her, laughed and said “Okay, I think I can get through this.”

Well, I did survive. It wasn’t easy, and it was sure an eye-opener for me. The weather wasn’t all that great, so I didn’t want to pass the time running around in the rain. The good news is that when going through some of my cd’s and dvd’s looking for something to play on my computer, I came across a couple of Hoyle game disks that I didn’t realize I still had. They had not been loaded up onto my computer when I got the new one. Well, hurrah, I loaded them onto my computer and voila, I had some new games to play to pass the time. I also watched an old, old movie with Nick Nolte in it. I couldn’t find info on the date of the movie, but his part was very small, so I figured it must have been one of his first.

The tech arrived this morning, even earlier than anticipated, and just as I thought, the problem stemmed from all the rain we had the past couple of days. No charge to me, thank goodness.
It’s a quiet world out there without T.V., phone and internet! However, I think its time I began to wean myself a little so it’s not such a shock to my system when/if it happens again!

One thing the internet has done for me is provide a way to the many friends I wouldn't have otherwise.

May your lives be bountiful with much peace and provision.

HE KNOWS MY NAME Oct 4, 2009 10:54 pm

I spent a very refreshing and glory filled weekend with other women, in fellowship, eating good food, and being fed from the Word. I came away with renewed hope in my future, in my trust and love for a God who Knows My Name.

The end of the retreat ended with one of the most beautiful and emotional events … a “taste” of what it will be like to sit at the Banquet Table with My Lord Jesus Christ. As we waited in the foyer of the church, talk was about our curiosity as to what was in store for us when it came time to enter into the sanctuary where our meal was being made ready.

When the time came, we were instructed to go quietly to the banquet table and look for our name card. As we entered, the following song was playing as we all silently made our way around the table that was set for royalty.

He Knows My Name

I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands

I have a Father
He calls me His own
He'll never leave me
No matter where I go

He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
And He hears me when I call

Candles were lit, and the table was set with beautiful china and goblets. At the head of this banquet table a robe and gold grown covered the chair, in anticipation for the One Who Had Invited Us. I am sure there was not a dry eye as each woman took her place at the table. Oh what a wonderful day it will be when we do finally see Jesus, sitting at the head of the table, beckoning us to come and sit and sup with him.
