The purpose of this website is stated as “Dating for people with experience”. SFF services include “dating services” as defined by California statute (“Dating Services”). The SFF mission statement: “The purpose of the Senior FriendFinder site is to make it as easy as possible for you to meet people, using the power of the internet. At Senior FriendFinder, you'll find a community of people using the site as a tool to make connections and find partners for dating, romance, and a variety of encounters. To find your match, we offer several powerful features, that allow you to narrow your search so you can find exactly the kind of person you, are looking for.”

The Terms of Use (TOU) further describes in detail the various rules and etiquette to be followed when using this website. The TOU can be viewed below, at the very bottom of this webpage. Additional guidelines can be found in the help section under “What are the Senior FriendFinder Blog Guidelines”.

SFF members (paid and unpaid) have accepted the TOU as part of the join process. Spammers are specifically prohibited from using this site and its various forums and messaging systems.

Are you a social blog spammer?

Spam refers to the use of electronic messaging systems to send out unrequested or unwanted messages and blog posts in excess and in violation of the TOU. Attempts to manipulate member opinion or behavior through a consistent bombardment of hate and/or false representations run counter to the stated purpose of SFF. Such messages are frequently offensive to regular site members or depreciate the value of the website. SFF is not a political forum, but that is not to say that that topic is off limits. However, the present volumes of such are outrageous at best.

Is your blogging agenda consistent with the stated purpose and TOU of SFF? Do you post repeatedly about the same off-purpose topic? Do your posts regularly stir up animosity and/or member bashing? Are you ignored by most members? Are you involved in cyberbullying? Do you frequently find yourself blocked? Well you might be a social blog spammer!

Has spam gotten out of control on SFF?

As a relatively new member to SFF, I have seen a large number of posts that are unrelated to the purpose of this site and I believe many of these posts can be considered in violation of the site’s TOU. I belong to other dating websites and can say that none of them have this volume of off-purpose and huffy posts. Plus I’ve witnessed the cyberbullying that goes on here first hand. No member deserves to be intimidated, or treated disrespectfully simply because she/he holds a different opinion than others.

Facebook and other social media are beginning to crack down on spam posts, including false and misleading “fake” news. On Feb 7th, Twitter announced their new policy: “Twitter prohibits the promotion of hate content, sensitive topics, and violence globally” read more on their website. .The social media giants have put spammers on notice that their accounts will be suspended or terminated if they are not in compliance with their respective TOU’s. I believe SFF should join this accelerating social media trend and do the same to shield its members from the dogma of hate.

Is it time to start reporting the TOU violations?

Are you one of the members who would like to see a reduction in spam? A return to respectful treatment and thoughtfulness for all members? Members will need to make their own decisions about what is spam and reporting the spammers. Perhaps it is the only way to get SFF back on track as a valued dating website.

Should you decide to join me in reporting the spammers, you can report suspected TOU violations via the SFF abuse team form. Simply go to the help center and do a search for abuse team, then click the link to fill out and submit the form. Or use the following shortened URL: https://tinyurl.com/ht6hxa8

Bashing Sr Friends thru Politics?

[font face=Verdana]I came to this site to find friends, maybe an LTR. It seems most of us on this site are experienced in life and have strong family ties. We are looking to fill a gap in our life. Trying to find that special friend. Someone who we might share fun times and happiness with.

Politics doesn’t make or break the deal, unless someone is so extreme, and has so little tolerance for another’s point of view, that he or she may make themselves unapproachable.

Our country is primarily based on a two party political system. That means that half of us tend to vote differently than the other half. It does not mean we are in someway unintelligent or inferior if we do, or do not, support a particular candidate or ballot measure, including candidates voted into office.

Let’s not turn this site into a haven for political bashing and loathing. To quote an unlikely LA voice “can we all just get along?”
