For every human being, every dream, ambition, or desire of your life is driven by an event that occurred probably before, but no later than the very first time as an infant you heard and understood when mommy said the word "no". You can never get entirely beyond that event. It drives and shapes everything you do for the rest of your days. -Gavin Lee Sutherland

Why many blacks resist arrest.

Thomas Sowell
@ThomasSowell
"Racism is not dead. But it is on life-support, kept alive mainly by the people who use it for an excuse or to keep minority communities fearful or resentful enough to turn out as a voting bloc on election day."

The above quote is from one of the finest thinkers currently in the world. A black man who grew up in America. What he didn't mention here, is that it has been going on since the mid sixties. Now, we have 3 generations of blacks who grew up believing their problems were all due to bigotry. It fostered in them a growing resentment and distrust. That resentment has gradually culminated in a natural tendency among many in the black community to fight back, very often when it was not necessary or justified.

The black community has been conned by liberal politicians and self-serving black "leaders" into feeling desperation well beyond any realistic need. As a consequence, due to misguided societal perceptions, young black men have been conditioned to have a greater propensity when confronted by police (especially white cops) to fear, distrust, and ultimately resist arrest, and/or react violently.

Add to that the natural inclination of desperate communities to have higher crime rates in general and thus more interactions with police. So since the 60s, we've all grown up in current American society and seen the statistics of deaths of young blacks by police rise above death rates of white men at a proportional double that of whites based on population.

But that's not the entire explanation.

Over this same time period since the 60s, we've seen the percentage of killings of police rise, and now is at a point at which 40% of those deaths are at the hands of blacks, mostly males, who comprise only about 7% of the population. And cops are aware of this. For any police officer it's scary, (and especially so for white cops,) whenever there is an encounter with middle age and younger black men. In those situations, the tensions are much higher from both the police and the black men than other encounters either party is likely to face.

Both sides are scared of each other and both sides are tense.

The conclusion is, the reason there is disproportionally more deaths of blacks at the hands of police, is due to the lies and manipulations of those on the left, including the main-stream media, liberal politicians, and charlatan leaders and advocates both white and black, all combined with the result of causing an unrealistic fear and anger toward whites and police. Blacks have been lied to and used by the left for decades.

The left, both white and black, are the only ones who keep this going. It's the way they maintain their own power.

Critical Race Theory

Critical Race Theory.

Been hearing this term bandied about lately, so I looked it up. It derives from Marxist ideology and holds that racial disparity is systematic and due to some of our institutions, and they usually focus on the complex situations and interactions involving the law enforcement/legal system with minority groups. At first I disagreed that racism was systematic and still even prevalent in our society, But then I got to thinking, and realized that it may be true, but NOT for the institutions, organizations, and elements that the advocates of Critical Race Theory currently ascribe it to. It is other institutions and systems that continue to maintain racial problems in America today. I can think of six.

The REAL guilty organizations and systems are:

1: The main-stream media.
2: Politicians who pander to minority groups
3: Charlatans of both colors who gain influence and a following through claiming to be advocates for minority groups by continually telling them they are oppressed, and that members of those minority groups should follow their lead to get what they feel they deserve, all the while the only people that benefit from their efforts are those charlatans themselves.

Those are the main 3.

In addition, we can add:

4: Elements of majority groups who seek to express guilt or shame about their situation and claim support for minorities in hopes of attaining greater social acceptance.

5: Elements of minority groups who seek to take advantage of their "victimhood" status in order to benefit themselves and/or justify deviant behavior.

And 6: Organizations both formally and informally established ostensibly to uplift underprivileged groups, who must maintain the "oppressed" status of those groups, in order to avoid becoming obsolete. Often these organizations claim, or even label themselves as civil rights advocates, but in reality they merely highjack minority causes, fooling minorities, but really have their own separate nefarious/malevolent goals they seek to advance.

Just my humble opinion. Thanks for reading and GBU all.

Trump wins in Court over Congressional subpoena that lacked standing to sue.

The Federal Courts today in a unanimous decision ruled that Congressional subpoenas issued last year by individual members of the house lacked standing to sue. This bolsters Trumps position on last week's impeachment debate wherein Dems argued that Trump had no authority to refuse their subpoenas over the impeachment investigation. When the House issued the impeachment subpoenas, the case in today's ruling (an earlier charge that Trump violated the Emoluments Clause) was still in Court awaiting a judgment. Also, at that time, House leaders had not properly established the impeachment inquiry committee, and Trump lawyers argued that the subpoena for the impeachment inquiry was therefore invalid. Today's judgment bolsters that case for Trump. I've maintained all along that all the House had to do was conduct a vote of the WHOLE House to properly establish the impeachment committee, and THEN issue new subpoenas from the PROPERLY appointed committee, and then Trump could no longer refuse to comply with those new subpoenas.

Best Reason for Actions Taken by the Senate.

There are several reasons for Republican Senators to refuse to allow witnesses at the Trump impeachment trial. But what I consider the most important yet not mentioned enough, is that the Dems in the House didn't properly do their job, and by taking such weak and unfairly enacted impeachment articles to the Senate, and trying to force the Senate to go along with them, would set a precedent that would undermine the balance of power between the House and the Senate. Were that to happen it would give the House, rather than the whole Congress further legislative power. It would lead to a breakdown of the Impeachment powers outlined in the Constitution, and the end result would mean our system would devolve into a parliamentary system like the UK, rather than the more stable government that the Founding Fathers wanted. In order to save the Constitution, the Senate was obligated to fight them in every way possible and on every issue. Just like Trump would have liked a more involving trial, many in the Senate would have too. But just as Trump resisted subpoenas in an attempt to force the House to bring the question before the Supreme Court for their input on the matter and thus forcing the Dems to abide by due process, in order to defend the rights of executive privilege, and thereby the co-equal power of the Executive branch for future Presidents. I hope I explained this clearly. It's a confusing thing for many people, but a vital concern for the Constitution.

The Founding Fathers were geniuses. They set up a system whereby there are no limits upon the number and content with which the Executive branch could assert Executive Privilege, thus forcing the question to always be a question for the Courts to decide. In so doing, the House would have to demonstrate to the Supreme Court why they were justified in issuing subpoenas. In this case, they were reluctant to follow such procedures because of the great likelihood they would lose before the assembled Justices.

Middle of the night as I write this. I was an ass in the chatrooms earlier this evening. Prior to that I was in the room where we were all playing trivia, and some folks got upset about scoring and left in anger. Then the host did the same thing. I thought they were all being petty. So I switched over to the main chatroom and expressed my anger about what I considered pettiness on both sides, with the intent of letting those I was disgusted with what I thought. Once I'd created a scene, I left.

My actions then make me a hypocrite for doing exactly what I was complaining about others doing.

I owe them all an apology so making it publicly here and now. I'll repeat it tomorrow in the chats.

To all I offended, please know that I am very sorry for my impulsive hypocritical and childish behavior.

Thanks and GBU all,

Gavin

Hi folks

Just had a thought that inspired me, and I feel like expressing it. It is said that God can't exist because we can't see Him.

So my question is: Does love exist?
