Of course it's only one side of the story. The question is which one is more credible? A serial liar who makes no bones about his dissembling, and who has been caught out countless times? Or a journalist with a long track record whose reputation hangs on accuracy? If Stahl gets caught lying her career will suffer. If Mango Mussolini puts out yet another porkie, it's just business as usual.

Trump seems to be able to do or say anything he wants to and get away with it. Is he so incredibly brainy or loveable that he is not held to the same standards as other presidents or politicians??? Every day he is lying and dismantling the system of democracy in the U.S. and the whole world. The only buddies he has left are Putin and Kim. Only a few seem brave enough to stand up to Trump. It's the same thing here in SFF...not many are brave enough to stand up to a bully when they see someone being bullied. They know they themself could become the bully's next target if they do.

The fact is that Trump said that he made up the term "Fake News" and was very proud of himself for it......we all heard that.....We have also seen and heard Trump insulting the media over and over, calling them the "Enemy of the people"......we see him lying about it constantly as well.....pointing at them, saying they are turning their cameras off when they're not......We have seen and heard Trump obsess about the press constantly......We have also seen his press secretary insult reporters.....We saw Trump even make fun of a reporter's crippling disease........We have witnessed this for years now........which makes your denial and your own insults totally lame.........And the kicker is, that Trump praises Fox news media......not because it is more factual or accurate or sensible, but because it flatters him, lies for him...

Further to the two sides argument... There was once a leader loved by his people who restored his nation to greatness after it was bullied and taken advantage of after an armistice. His personal habits were exemplary. He was vegetarian, hated smoking, loved children and animals. He treated his lower echelon staff with kindness and respect. He was a published author and art lover. Why is he so reviled for a few mistakes made during his regime?

Perhaps some are, but not I. I just watch what he does and says. If he does something that I think is a good idea, I will say so. E.g. if he drives up gasoline prices. I'm a fence sitter on his tax cuts. They benefit the already rich, so it's good for me. But it does nothing for unemployed steel workers.

Trump does his own PR with his constant, rambling, campaign speeches and his infamous Twitter feed........He proved his chaotic, gas-lighting intent recently by starting out his speech bragging about his approval ratings in the polls and then segwayed, immediately into how "fake" and untrustworthy the polls are......A real gem, your president....

The US is certainly going down, but I think it short term. Sensible heads will eventually take over and fix the Mango Mussolini's screw ups. As far as the western alliance goes, it not that big a deal. The soviet bloc dismembered itself, and that was the main reason for having a western alliance. The earth is going down, but it's not beyond saving. The biggest problem I see for which there appears to be no solution is all the plastic in the ocean.
