If I left a bad dream.

If I left a bad dream

If I left a bad dream and wandered,
to the outskirts of its framing and beyond,
neither fearing this un-escorted run,
nor the dark echoes, those beating drums,
which are a pounding of my heart,
would there be a light from another world?

Or just another heartbreaking experience,
of unkind fantasies, just another heart's pain,
where I lose my heart to another,
so that I run back to security’s comfort,
and live in a poor contract of love,
safe within a dream’s convenience?

Yet, what if the leaving found me a light,
where all dreams are to a creative interest,
where I am my own master of such illusions,
and aware of the responsibility of how I love?

Might I colour the dream to a fancy’s choice,
and in choosing to the mood and music,
which moves to the score of a romance?
Then would I sleep so well within this warmth,
this comfort of dream’s magic coverlet,
where love stays to my pleasure’s drift,
and no heart is hurt but tendered to a care.

If only I might leave her, this dream’s unkind,
and dare to walk into another dream,
where illusions give allowance of love,
and where I might colour the setting,
and give setting to this staged affair,
with the vibrancy of flowers, sweet settlement,
and find love’s in company to my heart.
Then is the dream, this rarity, a dream come true.

Hi Ron, nice to see you. I know you are in love and happy. My dreams are very peculiar and I dont remember them the next morning, - just a passing memory that leaves me very confused. Your poem is lovely. I would like to dream a "love" dream again soon

Ah... Thank you, Robyn. I do wish you a really nice dream which will come true. but I think it does not matter what the dream is like as long as you wake up smiling the next morning... Take care.

Decisions..... Decisions!!!

Some feel that.... it's better the devil they know...... but I don't agree with that.

Take a leap of faith that the resulting 'dream' will be heavenly!!

Happy days, Rocket! That's exactly what I would do although my leaps are often into large smelly holes!... Still, I have no need to dream...Take care my friend.
