Love's foun dation.

Love’s foundation.

For the sake of a constancy in dear love,
there can be no complacency within the pairing,
of heart and mind that each should have agreement,
and be in company with the other.

Should there be disagreement,
then the very foundation is at fault,
and fractures to a cause of subsidence,
which collapses love’s property.

Know that love is a tallest building.
It has to give attention to a solid core of base,
which is strong-wired and concrete and lies,
above the table of water’s emotive level.

The base of love had to withstand,
the pressures of life’s mischief which stand,
hard upon it and become stressed as love grows,
so that tension does not crack the outer shell,
which allows in any harsh weather’s turmoil,
that moulds away at the very substance,
of love’s building blocks.

Be assured of insuring this structure’s base.
Have a complete survey of its sweet bone,
its inner strength and of the bonding,
the mortar which will bind the bricks,
to a fortitude of a darling eternity.

Then know the house of love you build,
this fortified dwelling which houses love,
is built on a rock-solid foundation.

Great poem Ron, and so very true. I agree with Mrsjoe's comment.

So true. Sadly, many relationships are not built on solid foundations and the couple does not appreciate the fullness (and some are incapable of it) so when the pressures of life get heavy, the relationship crumbles. Many are too weak, or too lazy to work to rebuild and maintain it.
Some of the strongest loves I have seen have been elderly couples who have been through trials in their lives that we cannot even imagine.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Yes, Mrs. Joe, the trials of life can be the hardest testing ground within a relationship. Even the stubborn temperament of one can be a sticking point so that the nature of giving way heals a wound. Understanding, one of the other and likewise, is the beginning and ending of the sweetest bond. Thank you, Mrs. Joe... You are always a wisest lady.
