My moment Of "What if" ?

Most of you know that I am not a writer....lol....so no need for the "wordsmith police"

A friend of mine has a relative who has a ranch outside Atlanta and he has rodeos there sometime. I love horses so it was a real treat for me to attend the rodeo. There was barrel racing, trick riding, calf roping and a lot of other events.

I enjoyed it all but the thing that really caught my eye were these two boys who were running around playing and having so much fun together. They looked to be about 7 or 8 and they were oblivious to everything else around them. They had these big cowboy hats on and they were just having fun. I thought what if all of us could accept each other for the content of their character and not the color of their skin, religion, political affiliation etc?.

So as an artist I asked the parents if I could take the boys photo and they agreed and this is the way the 2 boys posed themselves.

The piece of square blue that you see was put there to cover my name a lot of you know me anyway.

This is a new piece that I did and it will be part of a series entitled "The world needs more Tolerance"

I like it! Both the painting and the idea of children just being children, regardless of race.

People are people, more need to realize that!!!

I missed seeing you in Nashville.

I missed you, sweet lady, and you missed a wonderful time. I guess you heard we had our own private DJ in the room and Joe sang karaoke several times each night. I think he also danced with over half the women there!
I so enjoy your art!
I hope our paths cross again someday, until then..........

Great painting and use of color.

While not completely this simple I am greatly encouraged to see how my teen age grand children and college age nieces are so much more accepting and even oblivious to things like race, color and sexual orientation. When I was in college it was a big deal that I had friends from different races / cultures and sexual orientation and huge when I dated someone from a different race. My counterparts of today's youth today don't even notice. Yes, there is a segment of society that has not progressed this far and progress is slow but it is happening.

Bright Smile this is such a lovely painting. They both have nice smiles. We shouldn't have to worry about the color of our skin.
