Nothing lasts or gets the job done like a vehicle with a Ford truck engine. I just got a new E350 van to use for hauling my stuff around and for camping. It replaces the old 86 modle. My son still uses it around town but it has not been kept up all that well and needs major body work due to rust but with work it could still keep up with the new one. These vehicles are well worth the investment, especially if you need a work horse.

Ordered F-250 in 85 with the 6.9 International, no turbo. Manual trans... mistake there. It sure ran good. Got 2011 Ranger now, miss the Diesel. 4.0 gas gets 18 mpg if lucky. Seems an Excursion (or Escalade) are either filling rear view or windshield. A considerate driver would be nice, same you Beemer and Charger drivers

Chevy guy here.. even though last 2 new have been 06 Escape and the Ranger. Escape has 125K + and Ranger 4X4 about 8K. 2000 Breeze commuter just passed 234,567 miles a couple weeks ago. Wore out an 84 2.8L Ranger and got another one to only use when I need a truck, or milk and haven't driven in awhile. We love our vehicles that get us there and home reliably. Looking at the new Chevy Volt on YouTube... hummmm. And the new Colorado Diesel! Like I need a new car..

didn't know they had a Ranger diesel in 83! We bought a used 81 Oldsmobile Diesel Conversion, Factory Reman, Cutlass Station Wagon. It ran really good. Down the freeway it was like a jet! BUT.. yes. Headbolts were its undoing. They were High Tech, single use, EXPENSIVE. Just not enough of them. They would break. But it would run fine anyway! I drove mine from Oklahoma via LA to Vacaville. It would eventually blow all the water out of the cooling system. I still have a good rebuilt head for one if anybody needs one. Maybe the blocks were the next weak link. tim

Actually I think the factory reman fixed the weak block, but not the head bolts. I replaced the bolts once, and the second time, after driving fr OK we traded it in. Had glowplug problems too. Women shouldn't be allowed to drive diesels, well most of em anyway, they can be hard on machines. No respect
