Hogwash. I had 8 live births, mine were not terribly difficult deliveries (although one was breach), but none of them could be considered a sexual experience. The first labor was the longest, and required an episiotomy and a little "gas" to alleviate the final pains and make it easier to do the push. The last one was delivered at home, after a short labor. (The next to the last one was born in the car on the way to the hospital, lol) I think this is just some more feminist psychological bulloney. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Many women today opt for a spinal, so that would dull any sensation in that area anyway. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

^5 MrsJoe!! Men might compare labour pain to passing kidney stones or a gall bladder attack. amp; It's absolutely not orgasmic for the vast majority of women.

Unless you had a misprint, that would be 3 out of 1,000 according to the midwives. My grandmother and mother always said that it was a pain that is quickly forgotten. I laughed later, because although it was NOT forgotten, it was something that I endured because of the "prize". I know I didn't have it as bad as some women, because my deliveries were relatively easy. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Having had severe constipation, I can sympathize with your situation after your knee replacement. But let me use that as an analogy.............. you know that horrible feeling and pain you feel when "it" is there and you know you have to push it out? Then it starts moving, and as soon as it is out, there is that super feeling of relief? That's a little like having a baby! Maybe that is why I sometimes call my kids "turds"? Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

I don't know if it is done today but I had both my daughters using hypnosis. I had both of them at the Navy hospital in Oakland, California. I would go in on the doctor's duty days to practice. At the time I had them I felt NO Pain! Yes I did experience the contractions until the doctor put me under. When I had the first daughter my husband was on a ship on the way to Japan so he didn't get to know he had a daughter for 2 days and received the telegram and didn't see her until she was 6 months old. With my 2nd daughter I took my husband to witness the hypnosis. He was amazed watching. The doctor had me imagine - while under hypnosis- I had 2 pails of water, one had very warm water, the other had ice cold water. When I put my hand in the very warm I said ouch and pulled my hand it, it was too hot. He then had me put my hand in the cold water. He asked me to take it out of the pail and pinched and twisted the back of my hand. I felt NOTHING! When I had each of the girls it worked perfectly. I do remember feeling the very last push before the last daughter was being delivered. It was a very mild pain. On the way to the hospital I was feeling the contractions but I had been taught to put myself under so they weren't that bad. My husband was nervous but I assured him I was ok and we would make it there. As soon as I got to the hospital the doctor came in and put me under deeper. It was and still is amazing to me. Fun to relive this again!

I remember my girl's dad and his buddy saying they would do the warm bucket of water to the sailors coming to their bunks drunk. I laughed reading it and remembering them laughing about it.
