Sadly, some of the most greedy people haven't got two dimes to rub together, but they will gamble whatever they have to get something for nothing.

Illinois has had a lottery for decades now, and it's main selling point to the people was the proceeds were for education...... well, they were right, but what they didn't tell the people was for every $100 that went towards education, $100 wasn't allocated from the original fund, so education did not get much "extra".
Now we have video gaming all over the place. Restaurants and bars are putting in their limit of 5 machines, and people are using them. Kind of like a casino in your neighborhood.

Gambling seems to be a way of life for come. I never have gotten into buying Lotto tickets. Lotteries in British Columbia were started in 1985 and the mandate was to generate extra funding for Expo 86. Since then lotteries in Canada contribute a certain percentage to education and charities. But your chances of winning the big one almost next to nil. Casinos are everywhere now. It has become the way of life.

"Not sure how we got from con artists to gambling fever."
That's the beauty of an interesting blog..... it can twist and turn, chase rabbits all over. The really nice thing is no name calling or animosity!

Pat these are my favorite kind of blogs. You get to know someone by bits and pieces by the comments that they post on your blog.
