I loved the dog sitting outside with the baby. We had a Doberman who did that with some of ours. No stranger better come into our yard while she was on duty!

    Quoting  :

Yes to the thought of preferring females......... our Doberman was a female and she was very protective.
But we have also had a neutered Pit Bull male that was a fantastic pet. He would lay around in the yard near the kids, and again, no stranger better try to enter the yard. When he stood up, with the hair standing up on his back, we knew someone or something was around that shouldn't be.

Reminds me of my oldest daughter. When she was about 3 she would get out of bed at night and go sleep with the dogs. I had a red coon hound at the time who thought she was Mama and a German Shepherd who was the protector. I used to wonder if I should use flea shampoo on the child as well as the dogs. She still likes dogs today but her idea of size has changed. She has a Jack Russell and a Mini Pin.

Fantastic selection of cute adorable pictures. My favourite is the one with the cat and baby looking into the bath.

Ranger, I have been here for maybe around ten years...fossil has never changed and he will not.
All we can do is face up to him. It would be nice to think that one day he will get a dose of his own medicine and that might cure him. But I won't be holding my breath!
He's a sad sad person. What a pity.

Tom, thank you for these very great photos. I like so much photos of little kids with their pets. They remind me of the childhood of my daughter Emy with our GSD dogs. Thanks again. Lisa.

Thanks Tom for those beautiful pictures of toddlers and pets. The first picture of the little guy with the cat reminds me of my adorable 1 year old great nephew who is blond and blue eyed. Kids and animals just seem to pair up very well together. This blog is a nice change from all the riff raff that has been going on in the blogs of late. Keep posting them.
