Good tribute. Just yesterday I was thinking about my mother. She was a young recently graduated nurse when pearl Harbor happened. She enlisted and served in the Army Air Corps. For years I saw this from my point of view on life, wanting to play on the team and being where the action is

Only in her later years did I realize what an amazing thing was for her. My mother was one of those people who was afraid of absolutely everything and saw danger and threat lurking in every corner. She loved her creature comforts, was extremely nonathletic and saw her "place" as a June Cleaver type. I only wish I had realized this soon enough to have let her know how she was to be commended for stepping up in spite of her fears and personal goals..
