Ranger interesting article about Ginko. It is also considered to be a traditional Chinese medicine. It is good for many ailments. I recall years ago when it was very popular and people were buying it on a regular basis. I do not know if that is the case anymore or not.

Yes, true...I've been taking it daily (along with other vitamins/herbs)... great for the memory!

Frenchsalsa maybe that is what I heard about it being good for the memory. I guess we seniors should all be taking it then.

All I know about the pistachio nut is that it is a great nut used in making baklava. Pistachio nuts are very plentiful in the middle east. I had a friend from Lebanon and she used to make baklava and used the pistachio nut. It was much better than walnuts which the Greeks use.

Really beautiful tree, Ranger. What a glorious colour too. That's some drive you have there, love it. Very interesting read, thanks for sharing.

Ranger, I wanted to comment on your flower blog but couldn't at the time. They are so beautiful and that tree is truly spectacular! I love trees.

I'm no gardener but I absolutely love gardens and visit as man as I can. We have a world famous Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, I often visit.

There is something so peaceful in just being there listening to the birds and enjoying the beauty.

Oh yes, Shartaun, definitely!! Unknown to many people, Ginkgo is a prescription herb in Germany. I've also read where this ancient herb acts to enhance oxygen utilization and thus improves memory, concentration, and other mental faculties. The herbal extract has also been shown to significantly improve long-distance vision and may reverse damage to the retina of the eye. Studies have also confirmed its value in the treatment of depression in elderly people. The ginkgo extract may provide relief for those who suffer from headaches, sinusitis, and vertigo. It may also help relieve chronic ringing in the ears known as tinnitus.
