The USDA recommended beef patties for schools uses a filler of 26 ingredients most of them unpronounceable ranging from thiamine mononitrate to piridoxine hydrochloride and is ammonia treated. Lean beef with a little salt, pepper and maybe some spices if preferred is a heck of a lot better tasting than the school crap. It is not the person who cooked it but what is in the patties that isn't fit to eat.amp;

It is just like the federal government, in this case Michelle, to dictate the standards and expect others to abide by them. There were even cases reported of children who brought their lunch from home not being allowed to eat it because it didn't meet the guidelines. We tell the government to stay out of our bedrooms, they should also stay out of our brown bags! One piece of cheese may meet the protein requirement in a lunch for a first grader, but it sure isn't going to satisfy the hunger of an eighth grader, or meet his requirements. We cannot have a one size fits all for our entire country. LOCAL school systems need to handle this. While it is true that our diets are not as healthy as they should be, one of the main problems for childhood obesity is lack of exercise. Take a look at kids hooked to their electronics as compared to those out playing sports and riding their bikes with their friends. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.
