That I kiss you.

That I kiss you.

That I kiss you is a glorious Sunrise
That I love you is a beautiful Sunset
And in between those times is a daylight
Of fusing colours which filter in
From a rosy dawning’s climb
And the misting red of a Sun’s retire
This swirling ambience of colour
Which streaks of fire from emotion’s palette
Is gentled with the gold of a midday Sun
This subtle shading which makes a bed
For my heart to lay in

And I live in this tender paint
This visual concept of sentimentality
But it is after the fall of the Sun
When the shimmering tingle of silver’s Moon
Gives a framing to the abstraction
That is when this whole glorious set
This fusion of soulful colour becomes distinct
And alive to the eyes of my soul

It is then, to the darkened set of twilight’s smoke
Does the picture of your face appear
Then do I see those pastel shades
In such soft arrange
As the rosy dawn does blush your cheeks
While the fire of Sunset’s colour, in a joy
Highlight your lips to a gloss
And the darkness of Twilight curls its mists
So your hair is the night and stars are high lit
Then does the gold of a high midday Sun
Startle in radiant beams from your eyes
And light up my world when you look at me

That I kiss you is in wonder
And I am allowed to see the colour of heaven
To know that such a dainty palette, in God’s hand
Holds those same sensitive pigments of imagery
With which God painted Paradise
And this glorious Garden, this primal seating
Is only for the hearts and souls, the eyes
Of those who truly know and understand love

I can envision a lute being softly strummed as this vibrant love poem is presented to a lady and her maids.
