THE POEM.

Today: I read a poem of love and dreams
Though I do not know you, Poetess
Yet were your lines in all open honesty
And in an exquisite tenderness
Of heart-feeling, to a glorious throw of love
That I saw within the hand such insecurities
And a softness of vulnerability
The fear of losing love, a fall of faith
That I longed to be the recipient, a strength
That a reply would qualify an assurance
A sweetening to enlighten a heart
And should you, Poetess, read this as a response
And accept it as the opening of a lonely heart
Then am I allowed the pleasure of a dream
