Man in his prime.

Man in his prime

What arrogant juice is man in his prime
Who sports brazen swagger in peacock’s dress
Ambitious, inspired, with mountains to climb
Beauteous beast with a world to impress

The warrior, who with an eagled eye
Does strut a personage of all import
There’s little time to hear the weaker cry
And pride’s only alive to fancy’s thought

Virility oft gives a chastened fall
When love is the perfume of attraction
Primal man loses his proud ‘Where-with-all’
When a lady attracts with distraction

Then know, primal man that all pride is lost
When a lady gives an eye to accost

Noooo, Mrs. Rocket... I wrote that as a joke! But it is true that in the animal kingdom, all the male species have the colour and pride with which to attract a mate. And... What helpless fools are they, who gain a mate that day!...lol.

She flitters and flits
As she tries to distract
A man to lose his wits
is who she'll attract

The moment is sure
but time will tell
the man will reappear
from under the spell

Then to try and rearrange
As to not become the least
Her man will never change
It's the nature of the beast
