In love are you rested.

IN LOVE ARE YOU RESTED.

In love are you now in rest
And this love was our love in life
That I will follow, always
That kissed trail of love
Till it binds us in an always time
Of ever-after
For I will find this rest, this peace
In your good nature, in your warmth
That it blankets my being
In a joy of comfort

In love are you rested
And know all the promises
That such sweet peace gives you
That garden of gentle flowering
Of blessed colours
Which glow to a joy of your laughter
Save me to bed beside you in rest
That we share the same flowering bed
And know that same joy of life
That same love
Which will rest with us forever

The sad lament of a lover upon the death of their partner is always so poignant... sighhhhh.

Yes, Rocket, writing it out is possibly the only way to bring out the inner feelings. Thank you so much for your comment.

It's but one of true loves test
When love becomes at rest
Love that gives and not receives
never dies, never bereaves

So well put, Jiminycricket... You write what I meant in so few words. Thank you.

A very tender and sad poem, but lovely none the less. My brother in law passed away last night so I'm feeling a rather weepy.

I'm so sorry to read that, Maudie. it's good to have a cry and then to be strong in support of others. may he rest in peace.
