A poetry Casanova.

A Poetry Casanova…

I understand, she said, in a quickened tease
That you are a lover, a poetry Casanova
I said in reply that I could not deny
I write of amour for a sweet lady’s clamour
But put down my pen’s erect when it’s over

But how do you make love? Then asked she
In an amorous shift of sensual invitation
I answered once more, as I did before
All my emotion is invested in sweet devotion
The rest is excitement from poet’s imagination

Then what of me; teased she to be pleased
Do you find me attractive and in fashion
You’re not my sort, said I in retort
You’re too in advance and give no real chance
So what I think of you, I cannot imagine
