The hurried Summer.

The hurried Summer.

A mind cast back to warm Summer days
Is far from the hurried Summer-time now
At that time was a sun to blue skies laze
The scent of blossom in a full time grow

Yet now is the Summer of such short thrift
And only in the past was there warming
Those days soft and to a sweetening drift
Summers are now into hurry’s storming

I wonder if it’s memory’s select
And a remembered is to a mind’s blame
Perhaps what is now is to a correct
That what is now is to the past the same

Bless those beautiful salad days of yore
But with hurried Summer, they are no more

Oh, gosh...How I miss those days, the flying ants coming up through the pavements and the kids in torn underpants, swimming in the canal. They were hot, fun, days...And we have the budget tomorrow, to put us under more dark times...
