tribute to Sully

today on a radio ad hearing Hanks methodically read a script, I decided this is another movie I can't wait to miss.
"Fly by Wire: The Geese, the Glide, the Miracle on the Hudson"… by William Langewiesche tells the story in detail. Granted it has been awhile since I read this, but is an interesting look at the miracle that was that day, rather than more emotional mastrabation from Hollywood (and i reserve the right to change my mind if i ever see the movie and find it compelling)

years ago I read most of the 'Jack Reacher' series, and when the movie came out I could tell by the trailer the story was embellished with special effects. A critical person (such as myself) that saw the movie commented "Tom Cruise does a great job of portraying Tom Cruise" I get the same feeling of Tom Hanks in this movie and I haven't seen the trailer

I didn't realize there were Jack Reacher books..... now I will look for them! I did enjoy the movie.
Years ago, after reading "The Valley of the Dolls" (dated myself with that, didn't I was totally disappointed in the movie. I tried to make it a habit to see the movies first after that.

Lee Child the author. 'Gone Tomorrow' starts really good. The one the movie was based on 'One Shot' is a good read.

The beauty of reading a book is that you use your own imagination to 'picture' the characters and the plot.

Most film adaptations are of course, the imagination of someone else, plus reconstructed to fit the time limitations, etc.

Both Sully and Tom Hanks were on Jimmy Kimmel Live last week. I would go see the movie as I am a huge fan of Tom Hanks. The movie has got high ratings. I have heard from others who went to see it and say it is a great movie.

WOW.... I just looked it up on eBay, and there are many books in the series. I'll get a list of them, and read the first one. If I like it, then I will likely read the rest.
Thank you for the information.

I saw the movie.
It wasn't very good.

For starters, cruise doesn't have the physical stature of the person described in the books.
