Prune plumbs - I haven't seen them in years. They are not available here in CA. I remember living on the east coast and having them when they were in season. Interesting that we do not have them in markets here. People from the Fresno area are often referred to as "prune pickers" yet a couple of hundred miles away we do not see the fresh fruit.

Lulu think your cake is called plum kuchen. I love prune plums and have a basket of them in my fridge. When we were growing up we always had a case or two around. My mother made jam out of them and canned them. I may freeze the ones I have to use in desserts later on. Mother would make a steamed pudding using bread dough she had rolled out and them spread with the plum jam. She would roll it back up and put in a container and steam it over boiling water. It was so delicious served with milk sweetened with brown sugar.

Just stunning - the muted tones, soft folds and lines/textures are soothingly pleasing to the eye, the complementary plums and beans completing the visual. Really like how you've put it together lulu. I think I would enjoy tucking into the harvest after the photo shoot :- )
