Sounds like a vey dangerous situation you have there. Please take care and run when you have to.

Oh my goodness!!!

Take any important paperwork with you, and irreplaceable pictures if you can.

Hope that it won't come to an evacuation!! Please take care!!

Positive energy your way. Having been in your situation a few times I can imagine how you feel. It never gets any easier even if you "know the drill".

You are a strong, resilient woman but nature is no match (but you already knew this). Keep us posted.

Stay safe. The smoke has been turning our beautiful blue skies yellow, air quality is pretty bad.

Been through a few times like that myself. It is very scary, the wind holds lives in the balance. Hope it turns on itself.
If you cant take your laptop, please use someone's computer if you have to leave and just let us know you are safe. We'll all be worried if we dont hear from you. God bless.

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

If you have a sandy area close that is easy to dig and good boxes or containers (preferably waterproof), you can bury your smaller important stuff you cant take and dig it up later. Larger stuff can be buried in a woollen blanket (doesnt burn easily and insulates) with plastic around it to keep it dry (not where fire trucks can run over it). Just a thought.

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

Lulu, stay safe. Went through that when I lived in California, wildfires every summer, too close to the ranch I worked on. Scary situation, I'm glad you are ready to get out if you have too.

There was level 5 in Tofino about 11 years ago.
I was there for a couple of days.
It was awful.

I'm in Vancouver at the moment.
I rode from my son's at Knight and Marine to Kitsilano around
8 Sunday evening.

Eyes were stinging from the smoke when I finished.
CBC Radio news clip said that the pollution numbers Sunday evening were about half of what Beijing has daily.
Squamish and Whistler approached Beijing numbers.
It's better now.

Never thought I would ever be in Vancouver praying for rain.

I googled the Tofino 2004 drought,
Seems I was wrong on the level.
The only ref I found said four levels.

CBC this morning said that 4 is the highest level, so it appears my memory is not as good as I thought.

I was pretty sure it was a 5, tho.
