Damn shame Hollywood and fashion now largely define pretty. Same goes for handsome ..... less than average looking males I've seen scorned by some women also. It's petty to judge by the external. Sadly in this world of 'image' it's what a lot of people instantly judge on. "Shallow Hal syndrome."

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

I very much believe beauty comes from within as does femininity. I agree with StellaBella that we are often our own worst critics. Beauty in simplicity [in whatever form] I can't help but venerate. Thanks lulu :- )

I remember a story a friend told me long ago, he was at a dance with another friend I've never met. His friend is average looking and he asked a girl for a dance, she was average too, but she said to him, "I'm not that desperate!" He replied to her, "But I am." His comeback line had her friends in stitches and he just walked off leaving her speachless.

I like this quotes of beauty.

The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mode but the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul. It is the caring that she lovingly gives the passion that she shows. The beauty of a woman grows with the passing years.

I do not wear make ups, I use lipsticks and eyeliner that's all. I like perfumes. That's all!

Hi Lulu: Up until about ten years ago I used to get a lot of attention for the way I looked, but I never thought or felt that I was pretty at all. My mother was beautiful when she was young and she thought that being pretty was the most important thing in life for a woman and drilled that into me my whole life.. My hair, my clothes, the way I walked and sat and talked, that 's all she ever talked about. When I was a teenager she gave up on me when she realized that I was never going to be beautiful like her. She really made me feel ugly and defective and never stops criticizing my looks even today. It's not easy to overcome that level of brainwashing.

Hi Roxy: That's an interesting idea but in retrospect I just think her values were that only pretty women could have a nice life. So even though she did a lot of damage to my self esteem, I have to believe that she just wanted me to look better so I could have a nice life. If you can believe this, Her big goal for me was that I become a stripper and get tons of male attention and make lots of money..
