Genie grants you 3 wishes: Would you do the same things if wish#1 was to redo your life? The easy answer would be to say I would do everything the exact same way. After all, I love my boyfriend and I'm certainly happy about that. However, I would be dishonest if I said I wouldn't want to change many decisions I made. They were made when I was younger and if I could go back, I would do things very differently. I trusted the wrong people since I was very naive. I wanted to have . Anyhow, what would you do if that genie in the bottle granted you 3 wishes, including doing your life over if you so desired? Elaine Shuel |

I have thought about this before and I imagine I would have made a change or two but I just consider them "learning experiences". Things happen as they are meant to be............

Nope, wouldn't change a thing. I have pondered this question, and though life was tough at times, it's those tough times that helped make me who I am. Like you, I was a bit naive, trusted people, took their word for what it was and found out people aren't always what they seemed to be. I also love my daughters, so I would have to do the same thing over again to have them in my life.

When one of us kids wished we had something or could do something, my Mother would always say, "If wishes were horses, beggars would ride." Yes, there are a number of happenings in my life I would wish I had a 'do over' on.

Elaine I don't regret anything I have done for the most part. The company I worked for prior to the last one I retired from I had some really good times there. They were a good bunch of people to work for and there just different dynamics. The last company I worked for was much smaller and seemed like there were as many politics there as when I worked for the larger company. I chalk it all up as a good experience and retired on very good terms with the owner and t me was the best accomplishment. Personal wise I have met some great people over the years and experienced many things. So would I change anything my answer is no. It was a good life. I am unto another phase now and next yea this time I might have some different answers.

That was a great answer, Pat. The only thing that bothered me, was to hear you were abused as a child. I'm very sorry to hear that. You certainly are a strong person now and I admire that even more, knowing what I do now about what you went through. Elaine Shuel

Ok something is happening here and I don't know what to tell you, Dan. You said this on 2 of my posts and so help me, I DIDN'T put any of your comments on review. Hi Elaine, Nothing major really. I have said more than once that I'm sorry I never learned to drive or learn a another language just little things like that. I have a good life and I'm very happy and content with my lot.

I was thinking about my life in deeper terms just this past week. It's been on my mind as I continue to read about celebrities who are passing and I wonder about my time left. I'm in good health but I'm wondering...My kids are on my mind. But as I began reflecting I realized I've had a pretty full life. I've traveled quite a bit, experienced a lot of things many people probably wouldn't experience and then as I measured that against what I haven't experienced, I realized that many things over the horizon really aren't as appealing as I thought they were. At least in terms of trading away the experience I have had. But that doesn't mean I wouldn't redo a few things. I got a lot out of my career choices, but they were the wrong choices. Several alternatives would have made me happier. I would have taken more vacations when I was raising my kids. I would have spent money differently. I feel the same. I spoke to my boyfriend last night and he said he would have liked to meet me earlier so we would have been together longer. That was a very sweet thing to say. I feel the same. Many people choose careers that are practical. I did that too. It's too bad that we can't always pick what would give us the most happiness. Elaine Shuel

I have a good life and I'm very happy and content with my lot. I regretted that myself and just got my full driving license late 2013. You have no idea what I went through to get it. There are many lousy driving schools so eventually my boyfriend taught me. He's a very brave man. lol It's never too late!!!Elaine Shuel
