HI Maggie....I was perusing the blogs and ran across yours. Your story is a reminder of Christmas pasts. We would always have a live tree in the house but very few decorations on it. My mother would also put spruce tree boughs above the doors and there would be that lovely smell of spruce permeating throughout the house. Christmas eve was spent making popcorn balls, fudge and pulling taffy. We would always go to my grandmother's house to spent Christmas Day with my aunts and uncles and cousins. It was truly a grand time. Those were truly the good times and we do not have those kind of days anymore. Have a happy new year!
