White House Keeping Toxic President a Safe Distance from Vulnerable Dems Before Election

Whereas once having Barack Obama by one’s side was a tremendous boost, now, having the unpopular president associated with one’s candidacy is a kiss of death.

A new report from Politico spells-out the carefully-crafted moves by the Obama Administration to keep President Obama as far away from battleground state candidates as possible in the months leading up to the November midterm elections.

Republicans are likely to try and tie each and every Democrat to the president who remains as popular as head lice in many states. They are likely to try and invoke the legislation that bears his name, Obamacare, and will tie the message together by reminding that Republicans have been against Obamacare, against continued massive spending and, overall, against Obama’s radical agenda.

In order to counter this narrative, vulnerable Democrats have to distance themselves from Obama and the assorted trainwrecks that seem to follow him everywhere his agenda is pushed.

Politico might be too-kind when referring to the recent crises Obama has faced. Bouncing from one scandal to another, each one seems worse than the previous. When the president faces backlash from his disastrous domestic policies, the Obama Administration is often quick to pivot to foreign policy and the compliant liberal media is all-too-happy to oblige.

However, with countless fiascos and various embarrassments in foreign policy matters, the president is running out of ways to “spin” his presidency and has no real accomplishments of note. With his recent admission that he possesses “no strategy” for dealing with ISIS, it’s clear why Democrats are fleeing from being associated with the president who will go down in history as the only man that could make Jimmy Carter look strong and decisive by comparison.
