 We have a different version of RD in Canada and Alfie's story wasn't in it. People copy and paste articles all the time on the internet Ann so it can't be violating any copyright laws, so why not post a copy of Alfie's story here?

 I just searched 'Alfred Geeson Sing to Me' and found it interesting that I got 67,400 hits. I was finally able to read Alfie's touching RD entry. He is such a good writer.

I wish I could claim that honor, bijou, but I can't. I did however once write a story called, Honey, which has been published in a few places. The story included verses from Bobby Goldsboro's version of the song. That must have been one of the links to the story that you found.
