LOL That's how I can tell how many handles the stalker is using! He always gives himself away with more positive votes than anyone else has received - even if he is late to post a comment on a blog. Usually my negatives are about equal to his positives....rofl. So YES, I agree with you, the voting means absolutely nothing.

I will sometimes vote without commenting, just to stay out of the fray but to support an opinion. I do find it amusing when comments are made about the low number of responses/views as if that is a way to judge a blogger's worth. Too many people try to make it a competition.

Lunch?

I agree that it is useless, particularly since many or most of the comments made are not agree or disagree statements. I have always had it turned off on mine.

Like you I have a stalker or 2 who will find a way to disagree with anything that has my name on it. Knowing this I never bother to look at the voting on anyone's comments on anyone's blog.

Perhaps it does serve some purpose. Those with nothing better to do than be disagreeable have an anonymous way to do it.

I think you're right, Sandy. I don't like this voting feature and I have never used it.

I never use it and forget it is even there when reading a blog. Seems to me it adds no value whatsoever. I am wondering why the powers to be at SFF added this to blogs. Maybe it is for the naysayers to get them all fired up..ha!

Hi Sandy: I don't know which I hate worst, the voting or the reverse order blogs. The two most annoying features ever invented.

There's a bigger picture here, i'd like to try and explain.

It's a problem with people, this site, many conservatives, and the country.

the issue here is not about the voting boxes. I like the idea. but I have grown never to pay it attention. I have concluded that almost all the people that vote do so without even reading or understanding the comment. There are obviously people here that vote to disagree with me no matter what I say.

So the big picture problem here is that people attack the wrong things. Eliminating the voting boxes doesn't eliminate the problem. doesn't change anybody's mind. The problem is not the boxes, it's the people who use them.

Many conservative view the abuses of social programs as the reason to eliminate those programs. Again this is the same type of wrong thinking, There are few that want to throw out the baby, and there are many that will throw out the baby with the dirty bathwater.

in my mind whether eliminating the boxes or not doesn't change a thing. in fact, much like the blocking, and hateful and deceptive comments, It paints a picture of the state of this site and it's people.

I too agree with you totally, Sandy. It is a useless tool which allows some people to stir the pot without disclosing who they are. There is one guy on the site who is famous for doing this. I have it disabled on my blogs.
