Goes along with what I said yesterday. If businesses could not profit from war and military efforts were directed to human concerns things would be far different. Unfortunately if we look at history there have been profiteers since history has been recorded.

Before we denounce appeasement too much, let's remember that Britons were overwhelmingly in favour of it in 1939.

And before we give too much credit to Churchill, let's reflect on what might have happened had Hitler stopped after Dunkirk and consolidated his gains.

Britain might have agreed to Hitler's peace terms.

The invasion of Russia and other assorted horrors might have been avoided, and I might have grown up speaking German.

Who knows?

This may sound strange to some people Sandy, but I'm serious....the reality of war to me is too much testosterone. We need more women politicians, world leaders and negotiators immediately before men blow up the planet with all these wars. Surely peace and human life would trump money to most women. And war and gun toys and violent video games for children are not helping matters.
