Well, this is just my opinion, but I think they rushed it way too fast and did not have their ducks in a row..................... but, I also wonder if that isn't secretly what Trump wanted anyway. Let Obamacare explode. Let the Dems own it, just the way it is. Meanwhile, WORK on a decent replacement bill, and and have it ready to go, then repeal Obamacare., which will be useless for so many people by then.

Having lived in a country with socialized medicine for 3 years I have always supported this concept. It works. Everyone pays for it and everyone receives the benefit without all of the fuss. The only reason we don't have such a system here is that is that the insurance companies are in the middle and they have one goal - to make a profit and that money comes from the both the patients and the heath care providers.

Democrats tried to create Obamacare as a single payer system to begin with but the Republican Party opposed it.

Sanders campaigned on finishing the job by making it a single payer system. I didn't hear Clinton say anything about single payer most likely because she was afraid people like you and Shawn Hannity would call her a Communist ... go ahead laugh now.

I couldn't agree more it's a good option for the Republican Party if the want to survive the Trump stupidity. 2018 isn't that far away.

Good blog. I can't see why the politicians and the people wouldn't want government run health insurance. It would create jobs for one thing and make things a lot easier for everyone. Every person would have the same insurer and follow the same rules and the doctors would all send their bills to the same place. Why would anyone want money making insurance companies to be in charge of such an important thing as the entire country's health care?

I put the entire blame on the Democrats.

President Trump came through as he promised.
He put forth a bill that was GREAT for all Americans.
It was a wonderful bill that corrected all the faults in Obamacare.

The Democrats killed it simply because they hate Mr. Trump and will drag their feet on anything he puts before them.

Quite unlike the Republicans who bent over backwards to cooperate with a president who wasn't even eligible to be in the Oval Office because he was born in Kenya.

I couldn't figure out why anyone would be against government run insurance, so thanks for the info. It's scary because the only other option is the private insurance companies. I hope things work out somehow. Good luck.

Many Americans are opposed because they thing the only arm of the federal administration that can run things properly is the military.

That's why I proposed some time ago that the answer to the health care issue was to enroll all Americans in the military at birth.

That would cover all Americans automatically.

House Republicans voted 60 times over the last 7 years to repeal and replace Obamacare. Well it finally happened THE DOG CAUGHT THE CAR.

As for bold thinking connect the dots ...

Your tax dollars ...

Single payer = Administration not for profit ...

Private insurance companies = corporate greed for profit ...
