Ha ha Lisz I did the same thing as you. We had a whole chicken coop full of hens who provided us with eggs. Not only did we consume them but we sold them as well. So the hens had to be fed and kept I the coop away from the coyotes so we would have eggs. Later on they would be butchered and provided us with meat. I don't compare a coop of hens with bloggers.

This comment is way off your intended point but I am laughing my azz off because I had the identical childhood chore experience and hate chickens to this day. Yeah the hens did squawk and resist their nests being raided but the rooster was worse. He used to fly at me and try to attack. One day he accomplished his mission. I still have the scar in my eyebrow. The rooster fared worse though. My grandmother rung his neck and he was dinner the following day.
