It continues to amaze me how people fall for the media and political spin put out by the people in power as reflected by conventional news sources.

ISIS is no more of a danger to us than Saddam was.
It is a sectarian group bent on killing its own people.
This happens frequently all over the globe, and we don't get our knickers in a twist, and sit back and do nothing. E.g. the decades long slaughter in Sri Lanka.

A far greater danger is the Russia-Ukraine matter.

I fear that NATO will do so something stupid to escalate things and stumble into conflict as happened during the war of 1914-19.

As a Pole I have a good feeling for what the Russkies are capable of.
But the Ukraine is in Putin's backyard.

I didn't see the soviets getting all worked up over the US invasions of Panama and Grenada.

What ever happened to respecting spheres of influence?

Looks as if NATO may up the ante.

It is meeting Wales to discuss the Russia matter.

One of the proposals will be to form a rapid response force that can be positioned in the Baltic countries if Russia starts sabre rattling on any of those borders.

Ukraine is not a member of NATO and so is not entitled, officially, to NATO protection.

An important item in NATO membership is that an attack on one member is viewed as equivalent to an attack one's own country.

Wonder if there is thought to fast-tracking Ukrainian membership...
