Interesting explanation of how golf works. My father, step father and first husband were avid golfers. I tried but with no depth perception the results were inconsistent and amusing. I was also easily distracted - like if a butterfly fluttered near. Funny yes, but the last thing the serious players in the family wanted on the course was humor. Thanks for the insight. 'At the same time, he could do better than hit the links 10 minutes after he comments publicly on the beheading of an American journalist'' On the surface his actions may come across as uncaring & insensitive but it's obvious those who are anti Obama are forever poised to jump on the slightest transgression (or perceived as such) to highlight his incompetence and/or unsuitability as US president. Unorthodox approach perhaps but the need for equanimity is even more critical and if hitting the links is his means of achieving a much needed sense of perspective at such a critical time then give him the space to do so instead of constantly bickering/criticising which is akin to Chinese water torture.

Personally I think Obama is indulging in cultural appropriation. Golf has always been a game for White males. He has some nerve horning in. How would he feel if we took up the Dozens?
