We're a cross section of the senior population and politics only appeal to a small number. Most of us have had our fill political stuff during our working years.

Personally I detest politics because they always cause disagreements and hard feelings. This is especially prevalent in this forum. Like mrsjoe said it's the manner in which the information is presented and how quickly things deteriorate to insults and name calling. There are no discussions, only arguments and a game of one upsmanship. This quirk is not limited politics but politics only fuel the ornery old person frame of mind. here's an example. I joked about my stalker who uses on my comments on other people's blogs as an opportunity to remind everyone that he does not like me. Doesn't matter what the topic is. Do you think someone like this (and many of us have stalkers) really care about a fair discussion of anything?

I'm not sure most people in our age group are capable of fair political discussion as most of us have a clear view of our positions and have learned over the years that expressing them serves no useful purpose and probably more than not have evolved or at least moved on to less emotional things.

Hi Liszt: I agree with MrsJoe. I think people should blog about the topics that interest them, but the insulting replies and trying to debate other responders in the political blogs has to go. I'm not that interested in pics myself but everyone's different.
