" RECYCLING IDEAS THAT BRING BACK TO LIFE, DIY "

Recycling is the practice of reusing items that would otherwise be discarded as waste. Variations of recycling include Up-cycling, which involves adding value to an item for reuse and Down-cycling, which involves breaking down an item or substance into its component elements to reuse anything that can be salvaged. Pre-cycling, an alternative approach, involves avoiding the acquisition of unnecessary items that would have eventually have to be recycled or dealt with as waste.

Recycling is a key component of modern waste reduction and is the third component of the "Reduce, Reuse and Recycle" waste hierarchy.
Recyclable materials include many kinds of glass, paper, metal, plastic, rubber, textiles and electronics. The composting or other reuse of biodegradable waste—such as food or garden waste—is also considered recycling.

We can make something new out of discarded or junk items. Below are some ideas of recycling them into new beautiful reusable ones . Let's convert some trashed items for the sake of our environment.

The following photos give us ideas on how we can use:
1- Old damaged flower post;
2- old suitcases turned into wall shelves.
3- Plastic bottles into jets for the garden.
4- Old bathtub, left over pieces of pipes; wine bottles and old cups;
5- an old piano and damaged trampoline;
6- Old suitcase turned into a wall cupboard with a mirror and a cat
bed, a hanger holder of recipe in the kitchen and old spoons.
7- The use of old tires.
8- A crib turned into a table and tire planter as deco.
9- A bird feeder and a fairy flower pot for the garden.
10- An old piano into a garden fountain, an old boot as a bird nest.

I hope these recycling ideas have been of interest to you, to embellish further more, your homes and gardens.
Thank you for your read and views.
Lisa.

My parents were among the original recyclers ...LOL....before anyone used the word 'recycle'.

When you grew up on a farm in the 'old old days', a store may be a day's journey away. Nothing was wasted.

I remember as a child, sitting with a pail of bent nails. It was my job to straighten them for reuse.

Some really creative ideas. It is fun to think of new uses for old items and even more fun to actually create something.

Rocketship hi,

So pleased reading you again on my blog. Thank you for your visit and comments. Yes, I know how people from long ago, didn't like to waste anything, just like my g/parents and my parents. It's great to think how they were careful in waste and they have taught us the same which we in turn teach our kids and may be grand too.. But at present people do not care that much for their waste. Sigh!!.
Thanks again Rocket, Have a pleasant day.
Lisa.

The ideas are all novel, but in reality the man hours to convert stuff isnt economical. How much rubbish can one convert? If everyone did a few it would make a difference, but only the 'arty types' really would bother I think. Nice pics by the way. I like the boot nest.

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

Hermit hello,

Thank you for your visit and your comments. Glad reading from you again on my blog. I should say here that we shouldn't be negative in everything in life. Trial and error teach us the best. If we would think how many would be able to convert such easy items into reusable ones, why not think it positive?. A man , a woman or even a child when having the incentive, the will and the feeling, it can be done.
For such reusable items, one doesn't need to be a specialist to do them, a simple idea and tools eventually with a little patience would do and each one does whatever he can too. It doesn't matter how much junk one can convert but even the little one can do in any way, would serve our environment and not only the arty type. One needs only the WILL. Anyhow, thanks again and enjoy your day.
Kind regards,
Lisa.

Hi Lisa: What creative ideas. I love all of them. The beautiful flowerpots and also the benches made out of bathtubs are amazing. I have a huge collection of hundreds of tiny ceramic dogs in three display cases. I started collecting all different sizes and shapes of bottle tops from shampoo bottles, perfume, fabric softener etc. to use as pedestals for the little dogs to sit on. I decorate each bottle top by gluing on rhinestones, pearls, glass beads, etc. and they really makes the dog collection look spectacular.
