A Slightly Different Take on Halloween

This came across my desk today and I thought I would pass it on. It is a quote that presents another side of Halloween. No comment, just wanted you to see it and judge for yourself. It has provoked thought in me all day.

“There is a in every one of us who is still a trick-or-treater looking for a brightly-lit front porch.”

~Robert Brault

My silly self runs about looking for brightly lit porches all of the time. I figure that I have paid my dues for this go around so will spend the rest of my days enjoying life - hard to do in the dark. No wait, the dark can be good - in the right place with the right guy.........

I never trick or treat. When I was growing up we did not do that. When my children came along they did that until the early 70's when a bad thing happen in Houston Texas (or a small town part Houston) when a dad put poison in some pixy sticks and tried to murder his children for insurance money and one died. He blame this neighbors and what a mess. From then on we had private parties at houses or churches. But I still think is a fun thing for Children. This year they had on at our church called trunk or treat. People would decorate their trunk of their cars and children with her costumes would go from trunk to trunk. Also there was games, food and etc for them.
