 The ghost's name is Tony Schwartz.

He now regrets what he wrote.
He got to know Trump quite well in the process of writing the book.

If he did the book now, a far different picture would emerge.

There are lots of references to Schwartz and his current view on the web.

By the same reasoning, would it not be plausible to say you would put little faith is what Obama says because he also used a ghost writer?
I think many busy people have ideas for books, and have others do the actual writing based on their ideas.

The issue isn't using a ghost.
The issue is claiming you wrote it yourself.
Ghost writing is very common.

In some cases the person being written about is deeply invloved.

In Trump's case, according to Schwartz, he had nothing to do with the actual writing.
