I imagine the people with that mentality will open and fail many businesses like this one. It is a lesson they will not learn by reading of someone else's failure but must experience for themselves....... and they will be devastated. After all, how could something with such lofty, noble intentions fail? Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Hi Maisie: That place reminds me of one lawfirm I worked at. I wrote about this before, but one day the partners called a staff meeting. One partner drove a Porsche and the other a Cadillac and lived in beautiful homes so the firm must have been making money. They announced that they felt it was not fair for them to make more money than the staff, so we would all be making the exact same salary, everyone from the receptionist, law students, lawyers, maybe even the cleaning lady, all making the exact same amount. We were all ecstatic, but then the Law Society advised the partners that it was against the rules to divide up the income like that and they couldn't do it.

That sounds like a good concept for a lot of things, but there are some that I would want to inspect before I bought it. You are right, it would definitely cut down on shoplifting, which affects us all. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Most of us liked the idea even though it sounded a little like Communism. When the partners found out it was against the Law Society rules to split the profit, they told us that they had come up with another way to give us all more money. For every dollar we had deducted from our pay cheque and put into a savings account then the firm would match our contribution dollar to dollar. I was putting in about $300. a week into my savings account, and they put in another $300. So it was like getting a raise of $300. a week.
