I didn't get to hear the lyrics to Jay's song because CNN said they were only allowed to show a small part of his and Beyoncé's performances. It's nice that they both performed for Hillary's rally though and hope Hillary didn't have to pay them as they charge a small fortune. I heard somewhere that Beyoncé gets paid $1 million and travel expenses to sing and dance just one song at private concerts for rich Middle Eastern men. I thought it was great that Beyoncé and her dancers wore pant suits for their performance.

Anything to keep a key core (corpse?) constituency on the plantation.

I'd say the concert was to appeal and capture the younger voter. The old, white, men didn't have to attend. ROFL

JFK had Marilyn. Bubba had Monica. Says even more......

Lots barking dogs, must have hit hard. LOL

Why do you insist on dividing by race? Let me correct my statement about old, white men...how about, old, angry, white men? Maybe Katy Perry will be more to your liking,,,or your kids.

I read elsewhere, that with them, she drew a crowd of 10,000. I have not heard of crowds near that size for her alone. Meanwhile, Trump by himself, drew 17,000. I think Liszt was right...... they were the pork chops around her neck! Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Maisie and Liszt are at it again...talking down to those who (they think) are "less educated" And talking a load of crap as usual. Whatever we might say or think about them, Beyoncé and Jay-z are hugely popular all over the world. The fact is...their music is just as valid as Wagner's... or any other classical (or otherwise) composer you care to name. Yes...I dislike that type of music...I prefer classical music... but reaction to music is an entirely personal choice and unless we learn to hear and appreciate different types with different sounds and rhythms we limit our musical education. I'm sure that, as a music teacher Liszt taught his pupils that. I have to laugh when I see the rudest people in SFF complaining about bad language, when their whole raison d' etre in life is to insult and denigrate others. So pretentious!

And btw- a competent Musicologist would never equate the musical value of Der Ring des Nibelungen with " Big Pimpin " I am not a "musicologist" whatever that is...must be an Americanism. I did not "equate" anything with "Die Neiberlungen", What I said... was that both are valid to be called music. Albeit of very different types. I also said that since reaction to music is an entirely personal choice, it is important to experience it in all forms. I don't see what's wrong with that...if you disagree, that's your opinion...and it is only an opinion...not everyone has the same taste in music or any other art form. But it's ok if you want to ignore what I really said. As for the rest of the crap...think what you like, I don't give a hoot what you think

BTW...what "level of discourse" did I ruin this time? Seems to me, I just interrupted a whole slanging match about a concert, with a bit of common sense...didn't seem like any kind of "discussion" to me.

Amazing! It took eight or nine nasty comments from three people to tell me what I told you I AM NOT A "MUSICOLOGIST"!!! I do not claim to be, have never claimed to be and never will claim to be. But you were all so busy trying to denigrate and ridicule me...you ignored that. Does it make you feel better to insult everyone who disagrees with you? If so...why are you blogging at all? Do you really expect everyone to agree with you every time? Where's the "discourse" in that? No wonder I laugh at you!

BTW...it's "too lazy to look it up"
