Well, I think this is hard because like concrete once the forms and mix are in place and set, it is difficult to change. The newly-rich bio-businesses will trot out the children and seniors and kittens that will be devastated if these programs are discontinued. The well--wishers, seeing their reflection from the bottom of a well thinking all is well with the world, will once again blame the responsible who didn't want these wishing-well fantasies to begin with. Well Hell

I think with most fuels there's the good the bad and the ugly.
what's one to do? Just see the bad, just see the good, or just be ugly about it.

It seems wind power has no enemies.
That is unless it's hot wind!

jc, have you not heard of the birds killed by wind turbines? Wildlife environmentalists vrs energy environmentalists. The farmers receiving rent for the space wind turbines sit on are no doubt fans of wind power. Don't blame um. Must drive the cows nuts though

From what I've read, the production of ethanol leaves a much larger carbon footprint than we've been lead to believe.

The corn producers' lobby was extremely influential in initiating the addition of ethanol into our gasoline.

btw: Although electric vehicles have no carbon emissions, the production of the necessary batteries leave a huge carbon footprint.

like I said

Hot wind!

There's no hope for fuels, because..........

Me well, I'm against the intrusion of the sacred burial grounds of the dinosaurs.

My understanding of ethanols and methanols is that they are both very efficient degreasers. Neat or in water you can clean windows with them. They take the oil off the bore in an engine quickly, the only plus is that they cool the engine a bit through its evaporation properties. Race cars dont mind ethanol as they rebuild their engines regularly. Unless there's additives/lubricants in the fuel it will knock your your engine out in half the miles of the old conventional lead based fuel. Unleaded fuel is harder on an engine but no where as bad as ethanol. It's interesting bigblock has not had problems with the fuel systems, which would stand to reason as ethanol would mix with any water and get it out of the fuel system keeping it clean and rust free, a benefit, but what about the engine itself? How often are the rebuilds? If they are not rebuilt often then the additives that are added would probably be the carbon problem. Just wondering ......

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

You get more than you let on.

Hot air isn't always hot air.

sometimes it's an evil wind.

Well, I'm just happy to know you ain't no sweetthang!

Like everything else....it all seems to be a political distortion of pig shit, and a political lubrication using corn oil.

Ya thank biofuels are political? I'm not sure if you got taken to the right Party with the wrong date of the wrong Party with the right date.
Ah, what does it matter.....You got taken!

I think you should just be happy, you're not the EVIL WIND.
