Who would have thought back in the 70's the internal combustion engine would develop the power and efficiency we take for granted today. Pressure from the government obliviously has driven technology. My guess this innovation is an unintended consequence. The contribution of the garage inventors, garage bands, and the space race have changed everything mostly for the better for everyone. If you ever get behind a Hot Rod or other vehicle without any emission control, it doesn't take much imagination to realize with all the cars on the road so equipped, it would be an unlivable environment. Like many I resisted the changes. Now a modern 4-cylinder car can make a big 8-cyl car look cumbersome, except for nostalgic/ historic retrospect. I know, no substitute for cubic inches, for what? sitting in traffic? I mean all this in a positive way. To go negative, I think the sierra clubs et al intention is/was to drive the personal auto into extinction. The same mindset can be seen for the progressives going all out to eliminate all "conservatives" , (that may not be the right word). Even an honest 'Liberal' should be getting a little restless watching the spin and lawlessness going on. The cult of personality, or 'looks', or impression of coolness, is all that matters it seems. Strong 'conservative' personalities come along and upset all notions that coolness=progressiveness only. Passive personalities are brutally attacked and besmirched by strong egos who seem to think salesmen like the buffoon AlGore are in some way clairvoyant. A concrete example are the attacks on the successful Trump and Dr Carson. Another concrete example is the grilling VW is getting vrs the pass the Hildabeast seems to be enjoying

Our climate is definitely changing. I think that the big argument is how much is cyclical vs how much is caused by human activities. I read (can't remember where now), that the debris spewed into the atmosphere from one volcano negates many times over the activities of man to reduce our carbon footprint.

So let me get this straight. Liberals claim that 97% of the scientist agree that global warming is a a least in some regards a result of human activity. You have proven that less than 97% of the scientist will agree to that. So that means? 1. Liberals are lying and global warming is not an effect of human activity 2. Liberal are lying, so global warming is being made up, just like their statistics 3. If all scientist don't agree then we shouldn't agree 4. Until there is more compelling evidence, we should not act 5. all the above please answer...I'd like to know what you mean

I can't remember the exact wording but George Carlin had a routine that basically said that the earth did not need saving. Everything on earth is from earth. However the human race many be endangered and that is what we are really talking about when we refer to saving the earth. He was so able to make wisdom humorous. Spiritwoman ^i^

Global Warming Cultists take into account that their audience consists of grubers - people who will believe anything a huckster like Al Gore spews. Re: "As an aside- why should I separate my garbage..." On a larger scale, I used to do work in a major chemical plant. Not to defend them per se, and like the refineries, a lot of waste went willy nilly everywhere. Thanks to pressure, technology developed where (some of) that waste is now 'recycled' into product! On the smaller scale our homes are the biggest energy consumer there is. I gladly fill our blue toter. What is done with it who knows. Wouldn't it be a hoot if it is dumped alongside the trash. Anything with Ca CRV label goes into another bin I drive to the 'recycle' to get some of my deposit back. The throw-away frenzy is a great place to apply conservatism and technology. I agree this is going to cost me money, better there than open-ended hand-outs

Maisie, Your good at avoiding answers Does global warming exist.. is it happening? What is your opinion of that? Does the fact that 97% of the scientists, do not agree..change your opinion. if in fact 97% did agree would that change your opinion. Is there a percentage of scientists that would need to tell you global warming does exist and is effected by human actions, for you to believe it does exists. What percentage would that be? Are there facts that could be presented, by anyone that would make you believe global warming does exist? People will someday figure out that nothing means anything to you. You just use shit!

The justification, "It all comes from the same source." As soon as you connect a mechanical devise to it to pump it anywhere that it is stored it's taxable. I wonder if they are going to tax solar power next? It's pure evil. How they can get away with this stuff. But of course we've got to get microchipped or an e-tattoo one day so they can keep an eye on us ....... I'm sure there's going to be a blog tax soon .......
